A hockey fan and licensed concealed carry permit holder was arrested on Wednesday for brining his handgun into the Tampa Bay Lightning arena.

“The government does not know how to even begin to deal with these problems,” said John Lott. “I understand what government wants to regulate this, but it is too late. Technology moves faster than government.”

“Once again, a police officer has been killed with an illegal gun from Georgia – a state that last year did the NRA’s bidding and weakened its already lax gun laws,” said Everytown for Gun Safety Executive Vice President Megan Lewis in a statement.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam has been busy signing pro-gun bills into law. Among the bills the Republican governor signed recently include a “guns in parks” bill, a “shall-certify” bill, a privacy bill and a lifetime concealed carry bill.
