For those of you who might be unaware, there is a program that sells surplus military rifles to civilians. This is the Civilian Marksmanship Program or CMP. They sell WWII era firearms primarily, most of which are M1 rifles at this point, though there are others as well.

WIth reasonable prices and good results, these are hard to beat. Buy both and a case of ammo, and you’ll likely have gas money for the range left over.

The pistols selling through CMP program are graded with “service grade” pistols listing at $1,050, “field grade” pistols for $950 and “rack grade” for $850.
