The South Dakota State Senate passed a bill yesterday on a 23-11 vote that would allow permit-less or “constitutional” carry of concealed firearms.

The Hammer uses a 24cu carbon fiber tank holding 4,500 psi of compressed gas.  Each shot is then regulated at 3,000 psi.  What will all that pressure give you?  It will move a .50 caliber 550-grain lead slug at 790fps.  That translates to 760 foot-pounds of energy at the muzzle.

This rifle is targeting not only long range shooters, but all hunters alike with chambering offerings that include everything from 22-250 to 300 RUM. Obviously, this means that the Traverse will come in long action and short action models, which will be identical in quality, vary only by weight.

In the past, the Model 64 has been a reliable and cost effective choice when buying a semi-auto 22. Yes, it is not a fancy gun, but that has now changed with the new Model 64 Takedown that was introduced at Shot Show 2019. This new rifle boasts a takedown system that relies on a barrel nut which you can tighten and loosen without tools.

Part of the requirement for this gun was that it shoot 8″ groups at 300 yards with a 5.5″ barrel. The new HATEBREAK is key to the whole system. Maxim’s SCW stock system collapses to just 4″, but extends instantly and is rock solid and makes this a truly portable weapon.

At first blush this scope will look very familiar to anyone who has seen or used the Leupold Mark 5HD in 5-25 magnification. In fact, it shares the same main tube with its lower magnification brother, so tube size is not a source of additional weight with this new 7-35 version. It weighs in at a svelte 33 ounces, which is not much for scopes in this class. 

The new pistol is built around their award-winning PPQ platform.  The Q5 Match Steel Frame is built from the ground up for competition. 

So who is the market for this gun?  I can see it doing well for someone in the 3-Gun world, someone in the market for a home defense solution, or even someone just looking to have fun at the range.

Intended as an everyday working knife, this update to the 0393 has a hard finish and a solid, hold-able design. Glow in the dark fibers are interwoven with the carbon fiber and it glows green. It’s made of CPM 20CV with a durable finish and Hinderer customizable parts.
