This week, the amateur reloading show got some upgraded tools. If you are stepping into the roll your own game, you are going to want to put these high up on your list not far behind the press.

SIG VIRTUS – New Standard In Tough
Published: April 22, 2018 { 11 comments }The operating system is so unique and different on the Virtus, we were really curious about how well it would actually run over time. We tossed down the gauntlet of attempting to run it 2000 rounds suppressed, without a drop of lube
Clay Learns to Reload: Ep. 3 Top-of-the-Line Case Prep Tools from Hornady
Published: April 19, 2018 { 12 comments }Not far into my journey to reloading, it became obvious I was going to need some case prep tools. Never one to shy away from keeping Visa in business, I decided to go big from jump street rather than piecemeal the products along the way. I picked the biggest and baddest options available from Hornady.
Hands On With the CZ 527 Carbine Rustic
Published: April 15, 2018 { 30 comments }The action is a miniaturized Mauser action, something CZ does exceedingly well. There are a lot of Mauser’s in a huge variety of calibers floating the Earth, and last I heard they tend to work. The “micro action” is based on a 223 length, though it is available in several calibers. My test sample of the CZ 527 Carbine Rustic is chambered in 7.62×39, and also available in 223.
Ruger American Predator – Very Impressive Bang For The Buck
Published: April 13, 2018 { 21 comments }Sometimes we get a rifle in that doesn’t look overly sexy in the packaging, but then proceeds to blow your socks off. The Ruger American Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor is one such weapon. When it comes to accuracy, this thing is a monster.

Published: April 11, 2018 { 12 comments }The Blac-Rac 1070 weapon retention system will secure a weapon anywhere you need to place one. They have attachments for cars (ceiling or upright), helicopters, ATVs, UTVs, and, motorcycles, and, of course, bicycles. Yes, you can also get attachments for in-the-home use as well.
Remington 870 DM – Follow Up
Published: April 7, 2018 { 10 comments }I have retained our original 870 DM, and I am back today with a follow-up report. The original review is here, and I am happy to say I can stand behind this one. The 870 DM remains the best change to shotguns since the original model 870 was introduced back in 1951.
Clay Learns to Reload: Ep. 2 Press Installation & Bullets that (Hopefully) Don’t Explode
Published: April 5, 2018 { 18 comments }The Hornady Iron Press is an extremely smooth operator. Priming was so easy I was certain it wasn’t working, only to find primed brass on the other side.
