Delta S 9mm- Heir Apparent to the MP-5SD throne

Arguably the least development we have seen on new firearms is in the submachine gun arena. Once the coolest kid on the block, sub guns were a staple of counter-terrorism forces, the world over. Despite many attempts to usurp it, the MP-5 was far and away the weapon of choice.

Kimber EVO SP Custom Shop: Range Tested

Kimber EVO SP Custom Shop: Range Tested

{ 8 comments }

“Success has many fathers, but failure is an orphan!”  The quote has been attributed to several people, including President John F. Kennedy.  I think the phrase is applicable to Kimber’s new EVO SP pistol.  The EVO SP, in general, is a successor to the ill-fated Solo.  First introduced in 2011, the Solo was a sub-compact, [...]

Alan Berg Assassination: MAC10 Murder & Gov’t Reclassification of a Semi-Auto

In this installment of our ongoing review of infamous assassination weapons, we probe the very depths of darkness and hate. The victim was a shock radio host, the assassins were dedicated white supremacists, and the weapon was an illegally converted full auto MAC10.

The Retrograde to me says awesome hair, flight suit, and a really bad attitude cause Ronnie Reagan told us to. Holding it in your hands, you can almost hear the rotors spinning on a Huey and “boarding party to the flight deck” coming over the 1MC. That alone is worth the price.

Head-to-Head: NEW Ruger Competition 10/22 vs. Custom 10/22 Build

Head-to-Head: NEW Ruger Competition 10/22 vs. Custom 10/22 Build

{ 16 comments }

Ruger, at long last, has taken notice of the aftermarket 10/22 world, and late last year the company’s new Custom Shop put together the 10/22 Competition Rifle. It’s a sweet shooter, and it comes with all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a premium .22 firearm.

But how does it stack up against a custom build? That’s the question I wanted to answer, so I reached out to one of my gun buddies who owns one. Before we get down to the nitty-gritty, you should know a few things about Ruger’s new Competition 10/22.

Glock’s New G45 vs. Glock 19X – Review

{ 16 comments }

I’m not a cop. Never been one. Never played one on TV. And while I fully understand why this new G45 model from Glock, dubbed their “Crossover” pistol, is exactly what some departments have wanted, and what I predict more and more will adopt, I think they’ve struck handgun gold here for the civilian market as well. This baby is a shooter!

Depending upon your political leanings Ernesto “Che” Guevara was a hero, saint, murderer, or monster. Guevara was one of the most polarizing people in all of human history. His life, death, and legacy still spark controversy more than half a century after his execution.

Solid, Accurate, & Reliable: The Defiant STOCK 1 from Tanfoglio

{ 9 comments }

Accurate and very comfortable in the hand, the Defiant STOCK 1 clearly has many uses beyond competition, including home defense, hunting, law enforcement use, open carry, and just plinking. It strikes me as a little large for concealed carry, but there are people who no doubt would find this full-sized handgun just right for that purpose, too.

Walther PPQ Q5 Match – Why This Polymer Wonder is Still Relevant

{ 9 comments }

It was almost exactly five years ago that I wrote my first gun review for GunsAmerica (gently wipes away a tear…). It was the Walther PPQ M2 5” pistol, which was just new to the market at that time. When the work was finished and the article and video were published, I asked Walther if I could send them a check instead of returning the gun. That pistol has been my go-to match gun ever since, and it has many thousands of rounds through it.

The Assassination of Benazir Bhutto: The Unsolved Murder of the Muslim World’s First Female Prime Minister

Benazir Bhutto was both the 11th and 13th Prime Minister of Pakistan. Her professional life was enigmatic, dangerous, chaotic, and inspirational. Accused of corruption and officially ousted from her post twice, she yet remained the first democratically elected female leader of a Muslim-majority nation. Imprisoned, exiled, persecuted, and ultimately murdered, Benazir Bhutto came to represent both the best and the worst of her part of the world.

Radian Model 1 – Ambi Magic

While I have used a lot of different AR pattern rifles, the Radian Model 1 with their ADAC system stands out to me.  I first saw it during Triggrcon 2018 in Bellevue, Washington. And to be honest, it blew my mind. I was asking myself how I never had seen this till now, since apparently it was first introduced around 2010, under the name AXTS.

What particular attributes did it take to attain the pinnacle of success in organized crime back in its heyday? Some were charming, quite a few connected, and others were ruthless. Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel, however, was simply a cold-blooded killer.

A Covert Gun for the 21st Century: The Cell Phone Pistol from Ideal Conceal (Full Review + Video)

{ 61 comments }

From pen guns to umbrella guns to this insane briefcase gun from H&K, manufacturers have been finding creative ways to conceal firearms for decades. The Cell Phone Pistol (IC380) from Ideal Conceal is the latest iteration in that legacy.

While it wouldn’t be an ideal primary carry gun, the IC380 could perform well in a backup role or in those situations where a traditional EDC handgun would be impractical or inadvisable. It’s also a unique piece to add to your collection, something sure to garner attention at the range or among your gun-collecting friends.
