Gear Reviews

While there is a minimal amount of distortion that can be noticed while moving the optic around, it is in fact minimal and is what I would call “best in class”.

Since their optics are not sold in stores and are only available direct to customers, many shooters and hunters don’t know that the Maven Outdoor Equipment Company is producing some of the best scopes and binoculars on the market today. Yes, some of the best.

Among the worst of problems when you start out in Night Vision Equipment is becoming accustomed to the oddity of wearing a helmet with what is essentially a heavy unicorn horn hanging off the front. It is in no way natural to have something heavy on your head to start with, and pulling one direction makes it worse. It takes time for the muscles in your neck to adapt, and it can be a painful experience.

Ryker USA was founded by retired MARSOC Master Sergeant, Ron Holmes. Unsatisfied with other slings during his deployments, Ron set out to design the best rifle sling he could. Today, we’re introducing the Ryker Sling, a sling designed by experts, backed with decades of field experience.

The goal of this rifle build for me was to build an ultra-light semi-auto long-range rifle that was capable of multiple precision shots out to 1000 yards and weighed less than 7 lbs

CANCON is a unique shooting range event hosted by the Recoil Group.  Like Sig Freedom Days it was a chance for potential customers to go hands-on with hundreds of guns for a reasonable fee.  Unlike Freedom Days, every gun at CANCON was wearing a silencer.

The combination of close-range hog hunting combined with the possibility of longer shots is why Primary Arms’ new SLX 1-10 caught my eye.

Parasec Sights are absolutely fantastic and are set to take the industry by storm. They simplify the learning curve of aiming, are amazing for aging eyes, and are tough as a coffin nail. They are going on all my Glock’s now that they are available, and all my other guns as they become available. And that is the strongest endorsement I can give.

From the ground up, the XM157 is an optic that features Vortex’s revolutionary technology, with what many call a “smart scope”.
