This story out of the U.K. is one of the most disturbing examples of government overreach we’ve seen in a long time.
A British IT consultant traveled to the U.S., did what millions of Americans do on a normal Saturday, shot some guns, and posted a picture on LinkedIn. Not Instagram. Not Twitter. LinkedIn.
When he returned home, he wasn’t warned or lectured. He wasn’t told to take it down. He was arrested.
As Colion Noir cites from the Telegraph’s reporting, West Yorkshire Police took him into custody for a perfectly legal photo taken in another country. What followed wasn’t a misunderstanding but a 13-week ordeal.
Officers showed up at his home to warn him about “online content” and its potential “impact on others’ feelings.” The man tried to explain the obvious: the photos were taken legally in the United States. UK authorities didn’t care.

Her crime?
She sent a text to someone calling a man who assaulted her a "faggot."

The charges were eventually dropped—but the nightmare continued. Noir highlights the most shocking part: despite the dismissal, police returned to the man’s property after 10 p.m. that same night and detained him again.
“That’s not law enforcement,” Noir says, adding, “That’s harassment. That’s intimidation.” The victim himself described it as “13 weeks of hell” and “massive overreach.”

This isn’t just a bizarre foreign incident. It’s the predictable result of a country where citizens have no meaningful ability to push back. The UK banned guns, and the dominoes fell: first firearms, then speech, then photos, then opinions.
“This is what a country becomes when the people lose the legal, practical, and cultural power to push back,” Noir warns. When the government no longer fears the people, even a harmless LinkedIn picture can become a criminal offense.

Meanwhile, as Noir points out, the UK is dealing with a real violent-crime crisis, including a stabbing epidemic. Yet police resources were poured into arresting a man over a vacation photo. That’s the part that hits hardest: an unarmed population policed by a government that knows it can do whatever it wants.
“No, you don’t have free speech without the Second Amendment,” Noir says. The British man’s arrest, he argues, isn’t just a cautionary tale; it’s a preview of what America would become if the Second Amendment were ever dismantled. Because once you lose that, Noir says it plainly, “you’ve lost everything.”

And here in the U.S. the Far Right Gun forum’s ban anyone “instantly” that differs with their jackbooted party line. If you even mention the advantages of Gun Registration, NFA style background checks on second hand guns, mental tests, or using a gun safe to prevent children’s deaths you are instantly banned. Informing people even of current news events by accredited news outlets that the Administration is doing results in an instant ban.
These 1st Amendment violations were brought before the Far Right Radical Courts which now rubber stamp anything that Herr Drumpf is doing resulted in them sitting on their hands and doing nothing about it.
In the U.S. you can get away with making all kinds of racist statements and xenophobic statements that often promote violence and even murder and often get away with it. Herr Drumpf (The Donald) just this week was ranting and raving about deporting “all” Somali “American Citizens” 99% of who committed “no crimes” and lying again about Ilhan Omar marrying her brother which was pure bull and was disproven years ago.
As one can see a country can go too far in either direction but I would rather go in Britains direction than go on with the present outrages that are being tolerated on Social Media by the Far Right or by a ranting Herr Drumpf, spreading hate, outrageous lies, racism, and xenophobia, and refusing to let the public see the execution without trial of people riding in boats and two people later clinging to wreckage near Venezuela which is a war crime according to U.S. Law.
When the out of control murderous Far Right point the finger at another country like Britain they have 3 fingers pointed right back at themselves where we are now destroying the 1st Amendment and committing war crimes that are against our own laws. All this will encourage our enemy foreign countries to murder U.S. Military Personnel and say “You did it to the Venezuelans so shut your mouth when we do it to your people”. All this is beyond the understanding of the current Administration who is now drunk with out of control power and putting the heel of their jackboot on the neck of the sacred U.S. Constitution which means nothing to them or their rubber stamping corrupt lackeys in the Supreme Court.

Britain (who has one of the best Spy Networks in the world has stop sharing intelligence reports with the U.S. due to Herr Drumpfs violating International law (and U.S. Law also) by murdering survivors at sea which is illegal even in time of war and the U.S. “is not” at war with Venezuela. This puts the U.S. in jeopardy as Britain’s info in the past has been extremely valuable and helped us win WWII as just one example as well as root out Spies operating in the U.S. up to the present day. Will the U.S. security survive the next 3 long years with an incompetent fool in charge. It looks grim to say the least as Herr Drumpf has just pulled out U.S. Troops in Eastern Europe giving Putin the green light to conquer and enslave the Ukraine and threaten all of East and Western Europe with Soviet domination and enslavement. Shades of the fall of the Roman Empire only this time it is us.

Totally wrong. Britain and India achieved independence without going to war and as a result were able to achieve “true” democracy and a Parliamentary Government with multiple political parties. They can throw out an incompetent leader simply by voting no confidence which requires another election. Pretty horrifying. The only sense this could make is that he said someone owed him money. Maybe that fact was posted along with the picture and he was arrested for making an implied threat. Either way, government overreach that should have been quickly corrected.
