Important Announcement: NRA Annual Meeting Cancellation
Due to concern over the safety of our NRA family and community, we regret to inform you that we have decided to cancel the 2021 Annual Meeting & Exhibits. This cancellation applies to all events and meetings that were scheduled in Houston. We will provide future notification regarding a rescheduled date for the annual Meeting of Members.
We make this difficult decision after analyzing relevant data regarding COVID-19 in Harris County, Texas. We also consulted with medical professionals, local officials, major sponsors & exhibitors, and many NRA members before arriving at this decision. The NRA Annual Meeting welcomes tens of thousands of people, and involves many events, meetings, and social gatherings. Among the highlights of our annual meeting are acres of exhibit space featuring the latest and greatest firearms, the display of countless accessories, and the offering of adventures and group gatherings that many travel hundreds, and some even thousands, of miles to experience. We realize that it would prove difficult, if not impossible, to offer the full guest experience that our NRA members deserve.
The NRA’s top priority is ensuring the health and well-being of our members, staff, sponsors, and supporters. We are mindful that NRA Annual Meeting patrons will return home to family, friends and co-workers from all over the country, so any impacts from the virus could have broader implications. Those are among the reasons why we decided to cancel our 2021 event.
We would like to thank our members, attendees, exhibitors, and staff for their understanding and support. We are grateful for the many contributions of the George R. Brown Convention Center, state and local officials, community organizers, area hotels, and countless event venues across Houston. We receive enormous support from Houston and the State of Texas – and we hope to return to the Bayou City for a full annual meeting experience.
The NRA looks forward to a Celebration of Freedom in Louisville in May 2022. In the meantime, we will support many other NRA local events and smaller gatherings – in a manner that is protective of our members and celebrates our Second Amendment freedom.
We wish continued health and safety to our entire NRA family.

OUR N.R.A. would have Many more Members if dear (NOT) Wayne and Company would get the Hell out and Gone to let OUR Organization Grow and Prosper. All he and Company do is Suck Funds out of the NRA that could be used Much Better than feeding these Bottom Dwellers!
Make sure to wear your masks alone in your cars. Cowards!!
Drain the NRA swamp that is Wayne and his cronies.
Now if they would just cancel Wayne’s contract.
lol, they wouldnt have achieved anything positive anyways.
My Wife and I have both been NRA lifetime members for some time. We live just south of Houston. I understand canceling and thought it would happen earlier than one week prior to the event. I do wish Wayne would step down, right wrong or indifferent He is not doing us any good , please just step aside.
Godfrey, I would say: Once again we are denied the opportunity to boo Wayne off the stage. This really sucks for the small vendors who have no doubt invested a lot in preparation, local restaurants too.
I too, am a lifetime member of the NRA… but they are at BEST an emasculated excuse of what once was a steadfast civil rights organization. (Yes, the 2nd Amendment IS a God-given civil right.) If they can’t even stand up for private citizens right to peacefully assemble, how on earth could they possibly be effective at protecting our Right to Bear Arms?? Just like Traitor Joe has forever blackened the reputation of the U.S., La Pierre et. al have trashed the NRA.
Hondo:
Has anyone told you lately that you are an asshole? If not, I’m telling you now. You must be a pos democrat troll.
Truth hurts huh , if you make an idiot post I’ll respond in kind .
Now run along Phildo.
Phil, if you are referring to the comment Hondo made about BM – sorry MP – Hondo is spot on. BM is a closet Chipmunk clone/troll who supposedly does three-gun and is a “gun enthusiast”, whatever that is supposed to mean. BM has been taken out to the woodshed but he still comes back for more. Don’t waste any time standing up for him.
At least this way, LaPierre won’t chance getting booed off the stage…yet.
Spineless bastards!
The NRA’s first priority is ensuring my health??? Maybe THAT’s the problem. I though the NRA’s first priority was ensuring that my God-given, Constitution protected right to defend myself by keeping and bearing arms was preserved from the dangers of a power hungry, avaricious political class that wants to rule over me despotically. And their second priority was providing good quality firearms education to the public so that all the simpletons out there who haven’t a clue aren’t so easily bamboozled about gun matters by the liars on the left.
Now I find out that they’re ensuring my health. And not only the NRA. It’s amazing to me how many organizations now feel that my health is their first concern. Wal-Mart, NRA, cities, counties, township governments — you name it, they’re worried about MY health. Heck, if that’s true, why am I paying a freaking fortune for health insurance?
Here’s a better idea. Why don’t we all mind our OWN business. NRA: get back to defending my right to keep and bear arms. Wal-Mart: get back to being the low-cost supplier of everything — and that means you have to get suppliers who can actually supply — fire the Chinese who can no longer ship you stuff; Cities, Counties and Townships — fix the damned potholes and collect the trash; and get enough police out there to stop the looting and rioting in its tracks — with firepower if necessary. Let ME worry about my own health and that of my family. It’s none of your damned business anyway!
Exhibitors were pulling out so there wasn’t much left of the “15 acres of guns and gear”….🥺
Afraid of the China virus? That’s understandable, they seem to be afraid of protecting our rights.
Bovine excrement it was due to the CCP “virus”! More like NRA “leadership” was TOLD to cancel by the squatters in the WH. The mistakes this administration are making is their beleif that ALL American citizens are stupid, lazy, uninformed, fools! Them, and their lapdog RINO pets.
I think they made the right choice. They would have been slammed by the left for having a “Super Spreader”. I think a lot of this is to avoid protests and possibly law suits. NRA life member here and I support their decision.
Darn
I was hoping it was LapDogs resignation. If he where to resign I would renew my membership
TJ
