Black Aces Tactical (BAT), which also knows a thing or two about creating non-NFA scatterguns, unveiled last week a Quad Rail and Side Shell holder for the Mossberg 590 Shockwave.
“Given the massive success of the Shockwave, it is only natural that we develop a quality accessory rail that compliments the design and function of the platform,” said Eric Lemoine, president of Black Aces Tactical in a press release.
“But not being satisfied, we have also added in a 5 shot shell holder that is designed to work with the quad rail,” he continued. “We feel that this is the perfect addition to an already wildly popular chassis.”

The Quad Rail allows owners to add on whatever lights, lasers, thingymebobs they deem necessary to round out their pump-gun shortie.

The obvious question is whether BAT is going to give the same makeover to the Remington Tac-14.
“We had a look at the Remington Tac-14, and unfortunately, due to their larger handguard, there’s no place for us to install our clamping system,” said Eric in an email to GunsAmerica.
“We currently don’t have any plans to make it real for that system given that development,” he added.

I recently purchased a Black Aces tactical rail and was at a gun show and was told it’s not legal to install on the Shockwave! Is the Black Aces tactical rail legal on the Shockwave in Virginia? I can’t get a straight answer anywhere.

I’d go with the CAA front hand guard for a mere $50 instead. I’m a firm believer in having a light attached to a weapon and for the money, it’s the best option. Puts the light right at the front for thumb or finger activation so you’re not worried about pigtails and such either.
I wouldn’t spend $200.00 on an add on Picatiny rail. This is way too much money for a short barrel rifle, especially a Mossburg model 590 shockwave! It is a model 500 that has a 14 inch barrel. The same firearm. I speak plain English when I say $200.00 is a steep price, unless you have deep pockets, or don’t give a hoot about spending your money. I like Mossburg shotguns, and rifles, but only refrain from wasteful spending. I suggest buying a stainless barrel if you want to doll up your shotgun.
I’ve held one and thought holding this at hip level could use some type of laser. That said I’d like to see a holster made for this too. I do live in a mostly remote state where concealed carry is allowed, or open, no permit needed, loaded and ready in a vehicle and a holster would be perfect for this when working out in the woods.

That seems way over priced. Should be under $100. Some Chinese manufacturer is going to rip it off and charge $50. I would pay black aces $100, but no way people will pay $200+.

Ok, what’s the point in taking a lightweight, easily maneuverable firearm and adding extra weight and all kinds of tacticool crap on this? I could see a light flashlight, but what else is necessary? Let’s stay focused please. The accessory junkies are getting out of hand again.
Since these firearms are being pointed in a general direction rather than aimed with sights, a laser is the logical accessory. Maybe a pistol sized light is appropriate as well. That idiotic spike on the front? LOL
Looked at the Mossie and the Remington at the NRA meeting last Spring. Really like the feel of the Mossie better, especially the hand strap up front. Glad to see there are some accessories coming
