Auto-Ordnance Introducing Custom 'Old Glory' 1911

Auto-Ordnance is adding a new pistol to their custom line-up with the Old Glory 1911. This full-size Auto-Ordnance 1911TCAC6, chambered for .45 ACP, takes its inspiration from the famous flag owned by Capt. William Driver and adds a few modern touches to make it a serious defensive handgun in addition to a collectible conversation piece.

“The Auto-Ordnance patriotic series of custom guns is an important expression of our company’s love of America, its history, and its traditions,” said Kahr Director of Marketing Jodi DePorter. “We want to convey the message that our company is owned by and staffed by patriots, and is very proud of that fact!”

The new design sports “Old Glory” engraved on the left side of the slide, and on the right, Driver’s quote, “I’m mighty proud of that ragged old flag.” The machined aluminum grips are star-spangled with “1776” and “USA” motifs and the pistol has a two-tone distressed Burnt Bronze Cerakote finish with black highlights.

Some of the more modern features of the Old Glory include wide front and rear slide serrations, with small lightening cuts up front. On top, the pistol is fitted with 3-dot combat-style TruGlo night sights with a green ring on the front and a serrated ledge rear sight.

It uses a standard recoil and barrel bushing assembly with a full-length guide rod and match-grade stainless steel barrel. The slide and frame are all steel with extended controls including the magazine release, manual thumb safety and beavertail grip safety.

The Old Glory trigger is adjustable and is skeletonized like the hammer. Both the mainspring housing and frontstrap are machine-checkered with 20 line per inch checkering. Each pistol ships with one standard 7-round flush-fitting magazine.

“Old Glory has become the heartfelt term of endearment for our nation’s flag for generations of American patriots,” said Auto-Ordnance. “From the legendary story of the famous Old Glory flag owned by Captain William Driver, Americans have looked to the stars and stripes for inspiration during times of trial.”

“With the new Old Glory custom 1911, Auto-Ordnance pays tribute to the flag that has waved gallantly over our nation through the perilous fight, over the land of the free, and the home of the brave.”

Pricing for the Old Glory runs around $1,400 and the pistol is shipping now. For more visit Auto-Ordnance today.
