The Supreme Court this week opted not to hear two cases challenging the Trump administration’s 2019 ban on bump stocks. 

This week, the city’s Court of Common Pleas has enjoined Mayor Kenney from enforcing his ban following a lawsuit filed by Gun Owners of America (GOA). 

The lawsuit, filed in Illinois state court on Wednesday by Everytown Law, alleges that Smith & Wesson’s advertising attracts and inspires active shooters.

“It’s incredible. It’s surreal,” he told ABC13. “It’s unbelievable to think military-grade weapons would be shipped in containers across state lines. It’s pretty shocking.”

The move comes in the wake of the tragic murder of 41-year-old Tiffany Fletcher, an employee of the Philadelphia Parks & Recreation (PPR) on Sept. 9. 

Tate was arrested days later on Sept. 15 in Santa Rosa County. Authorities charged him with “openly carrying a prohibited weapon and attempted robbery with a firearm.”
