In addition to making tissue look like it went through a blender, G9 also touts an unparalleled ability to penetrate auto glass, and stay on target. This is a bigger problem than you might think if you have never spent any time blasting auto glass.

It has been an amazing year for us 10mm guys, at least on the gun front. Every company in the industry it seems has developed a new 10mm. Options abound in a way we have never seen. But with all this firearm development, how is the ammo?

Savage has been teasing us with an entry into the 224 Valkyrie arena since January, and today it is finally a reality. Fittingly, and maybe surprisingly, the first Savage in caliber is an MSR or Modern Sporting Rifle.

Bushnell has been all over the map in recent years, in terms of levels of products. They have spent a lot of time solidifying their place at the table on high-end products, like the XRS and HDMR, both contenders in military circles. Then they will turn around and introduce sub $200 scopes, such as the Engage series. It can get a bit, well, confusing. So I am very happy with what seems to be a recent change to the product lines.

It has been an excellent year for us 10mm Cultists, our cartridge of choice has grown by leaps and bounds. New guns, a gaggle of new factory loads, and an upswing in popularity have made 10mm more available than ever. With so many options, I felt compelled to write a post on alchemy write a review of available factory ammo and how it performed in the real world. A test like that requires, obviously, a gaggle of available pistol barrel lengths. But in my opinion, it should also be done from a carbine, as the 10mm gains so much from a rifle length barrel. So I went looking for one. And to the lasting shame of the firearms manufacturing world, I found very slim options.

Arguably the least development we have seen on new firearms is in the submachine gun arena. Once the coolest kid on the block, sub guns were a staple of counter-terrorism forces, the world over. Despite many attempts to usurp it, the MP-5 was far and away the weapon of choice.

The Retrograde to me says awesome hair, flight suit, and a really bad attitude cause Ronnie Reagan told us to. Holding it in your hands, you can almost hear the rotors spinning on a Huey and “boarding party to the flight deck” coming over the 1MC. That alone is worth the price.
