For someone who’s built a career pushing gun control, Sen. Cory Booker sure travels with armed backup.
The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) is calling out the New Jersey Democrat after one of his staffers was arrested Monday for carrying a firearm into the U.S. Capitol without a license.
According to reports, 59-year-old Kevin A. Batts — a retired Newark police detective and now a “special assistant” to Booker — was taken into custody by Capitol Police after informing officers he was carrying a pistol.
Batts reportedly accompanies Booker to events, raising serious questions: if average citizens don’t need to carry firearms for protection (according to Booker), why does the senator?
“Cory Booker has never met a gun control law he didn’t like,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “He has supported all kinds of gun-grabbing proposals, the stricter the better. Yet, it is now revealed that Mr. Batts, described as a ‘special assistant’ to Booker, often accompanies him to events. Being a retired police officer makes him just another private citizen, with no special privileges.”

“The fact he apparently goes with Booker, presumably armed, to various events in New Jersey is ample evidence the senator thinks it’s okay for him to have armed security, while he has labored to keep every average citizen disarmed, and vulnerable to violent crime,” he added.
Gottlieb didn’t mince words, comparing the incident to a 1986 arrest of Senator Ted Kennedy’s bodyguard for unlawfully carrying firearms in a Senate building. That bodyguard, like Batts, was also a former law enforcement officer.
The kicker? Batts is from New Jersey — one of the hardest states in the country for law-abiding citizens to get a carry permit. It’s a clear example of the political double standard. Elites get armed protection, while everyday Americans are left defenseless by the same laws these politicians push.

“Booker appears to be cut from the same cloth. Presuming his safety is more important than that of the single mom or the working dad going from one job to another to pay their bills and keep their families safe,” Gottlieb added.
CCRKBA’s message is simple: If it’s good enough for Cory, it should be good enough for every responsible American.
The Second Amendment isn’t a perk of political office — it’s a right of the people.
What do you think — is this just another case of “rules for thee, but not for me”?
Should politicians like Cory Booker be held to the same standards they push on the rest of us? Or, is armed security only acceptable when it protects those in power?
*** Buy and Sell on GunsAmerica! ***
Corey Bush’s husband was found to be breaking the law. WHY has his mug shot been seen on TV yet? answer: socialism. “laws for thee (slaves) but NOT for me (gov’t. control freaks & socialist, hypocritical idiots)
When thinks go bad, one should not expect protection from whom ever, armed protection is for those who are armed, obviously, Sen.Booker is weak on the issue knowing that you/yourself are most responsible for a life/death encounter, be smart/stay cool.
All the left has is HYPOCRISY & HATE!
If he is a retired LE , he falls under HR218 and is allowed to carry firearms across state lines. NOW, if he was inside the federally controlled part of the capital where he is prohibited, that can be a problem, but DC itself should be covered under HR218 !
Corey Booker is a CLOWN
Any dumbass who talks a bunch of nothing for 24 hours without saying anything meaning full is a fool.
Typical Democrat. Wants gun control but won’t give up his second amendment rights.
Democrats want to enact gun control on American citizens while defunding the police and letting criminals out of prison.
Democrats don’t give a shit about the US Constitution or our Bill of Rights.
Corey Booker should give up being a politician and become a Preacher in a black church.
Spartacus is a sanctimonious clown, good job New Jersey putting this buffoon in office,
I’m no fan of Booker, but I think I would prefer someone who is “anti-gun” but pro-America than someone who is pro-gun, but wants to destroy America.
I don’t feel great.
biden wasn’t pro gun, dipstick! Don’t feel great? Take your meds….. And if you “feel” this way, no you’re NOT THINKING..
Can you expand on “…destroy America.”? How can one be “pro-gun” and destroy America? Let’s have some bullet points and reasoning why.
How can one be “pro-gun” but “anti-American in your context? Explain what you mean by “destroy America”. What is your rationale? Give comparisons.
In other words, back up what you claim.
Typical politician; i am just as special as you, onIy more-so!
Booker is not the problem. If not Booker, it’ll be some other political bung hole. The real problem is we the people who elect and keep re electing these sanctimonious turds. Also, there should be universal term limits for both the House and the Senate. No more fools like Mitch and Nancy parking their damn asses in the People’s House and Senate living forever off the public’s teat. So, in my opinion, it’s us that are the real problem for putting up with these stinkers.
ABSOLUTELY!!!
It’s a good thing Corey Booker broke into politics, otherwise he would be breaking into our cars.
laws for thee, not for me
