Here is a Remington New Model Number 4 revolver in .38 rimfire on the Smoot patent, this revolver was made between 1877 to has a 2 1/2" barrel and is nickel plating is at least 90% with a couple of flakes off the bore and chambers are dark, but not rifling is grips are hard rubber with no chips or only flaw with the pistol is the ejector rod/cylinder , at sometime, has tried to remove the pin with pin is easily withdrawn if the button is depressed. I do not know why the pliers were used, but they, unfortunately, were.
