The Model 36 Classic is a five-shot J-frame revolver chambered for .38 Special +P. This Classic (No Internal Lock) configuration features a blued carbon-steel frame, cylinder and barrel with checkered wood grips and a 1.88 in barrel.
The action is double/single (DA/SA) and the gun uses a fixed blade front sight with an integral slot-in-frame (gutter) rear sight. The Model 36 Classic is produced without Smith & Wesson's internal lock mechanism ("No Internal Lock").
