Rock Island Armory (RIA) Armscor M1911-A1 full size .45 ACP 1911. This is a very rare, number one-of-one "One Team Memorial" edition. Created in the memory of the 30 military service members (many of whom were members of the Navy SEAL community) and one military K9 when a CH-47 Chinook helicopter, call sign Extortion 17, was downed in Afghanistan on 8/6/2011. This is a custom one-off and is the only one ever made!!

The RIA M1911-A1 FS is a great representation of the original US GI combat issue 1911 and is chambered in 45 ACP and built with our exacting engineering standards.

THE HISTORY:

On 8/6/11, a U.S. CH-47D Chinook military helicopter operating with the call sign Extortion 17 was shot down in the Tangi Valley in Maidan Wardak province, southwest of Kabul, Afghanistan.

The resulting crash killed all thirty-eight people and a military working dog At 30 American military personnel killed, the shootdown of Extortion 17 represents the greatest single-incident loss of American lives in Operation Enduring Freedom – Afghanistan.

THE CHARITY EVENT:

Originally purchased on 9/5/15 at a charity event sponsored by 31Heroes Project and Seal Future Fund. This one of a kind edition 1911 pistol was designed and auctioned by them to celebrate the lives of our nation's fallen heroes and to encourage support for military veterans and their families.

The event was held at the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, VA. In addition to numerous charity auction items, activities that day also included the One Team Memorial Motorcycle Ride.
