The MR556A1 is a semi-automatic, piston-driven AR-style rifle built on HK’s MR series platform. The MR556A1 features a cold-hammer-forged 16.5in unlined steel barrel, HK short-stroke gas piston operating system, and HK "416 geometry" magazine well that accepts standard 5.56/AR-15 magazines. The upper and lower receivers are forged aluminum and the rifle is supplied with Picatinny rails for mounting optics and accessories.
