The Ruger American Rimfire in 17 HMR is a threaded-barrel bolt-action rifle finished in satin blued alloy steel with a black synthetic stock. It features an 18in cold hammer-forged barrel with a 1/2"-28 factory thread and a factory-installed thread protector, and uses a detachable JMX-1 9-round rotary magazine. Designed for practical field use and easy optics mounting, the rifle includes Williams™ fiber-optic front sight and an adjustable rear sight, a 3/8" rimfire scope base machined into the receiver (drilled and tapped for Weaver #12 bases), Ruger Marksman Adjustable™ trigger (adjustable 3–5 lb), an easy-to-actuate tang safety, Power Bedding™ integral bedding block, two interchangeable stock modules for comb-height options, and sling swivel studs.
