Seller Description
Marked "U.S. SPRINGFIELD" on the lock plate and fitted with a trapdoor-style breech, consistent with a Springfield Model 1873-era rifle. Classic single-shot, hinged-breech design originally chambered in .45-70 Government. Visible blued/aged metal with honest wear and patina, and a walnut stock with handling marks typical of an original service rifle. Appears largely unmodified in the area shown; no modern optics or accessories present. Collectible U.S. military blackpowder-era long gun that appeals to antique arms and military history collectors.
