Seller Description
This is a Yugo Model 48A with the stamped floor plate. I cannot find any import stamps.The bore is bright with strong lands/grooves. Metal finish is very nice with a sharp crest and M48A stamped on the front ring. The front band is the welded type.
Serial number, a character and 7265, is stamped on the right side of the receiver ring and on the top side of the bolt handle. The underside is stamped 707 and a dot.? The bolt is polished.
On the left of the front ring is stamped a character and HRJ. The receiver itself is stamped with characters and numbers that I can't decipher. It looks like the Preduzece 44 stamping on their other models. See pic
The stock is also stamped with just 7265. The cupped butt plate has one small stamping on it and shows tarnish and pitting.
The wood is in really nice shape showing some light handling marks but no repairs, cracks or gouges. The color and grain are uniform in all the wood. The sling is more than likely a reproduction stamped with the eagle/swastika and 1945 stamped on the back. You can contact me and I will be more than happy to send all the close up pics you desire.
