Colt Single Action Army Peacemaker, chambered in .38Colt. Made in 1912 and was customized by King Gun Sight Company, between 1920 and 1950.
The King Gun Sight Company (founded by rifle marksman Dean W. King) was established in the late 1920s. Originally starting out of Colorado before moving to San Francisco, the company operated primarily from the 1920s until it dissolved around 1950.
These custom single-actions are incredibly scarce because King performed far more conversions on double-action revolvers (like the Colt Official Police or Officers Model) than they did on the Single Action Army. Interestingly, the visual silhouette of the King ventilated rib and ramp front sight was so successful that Colt heavily copied the design a decade later when creating the iconic Colt Python.
