ZEV Tech teamed up with SAS legend Christian Craighead to make a fully-featured, semi-custom OZ9 pistol chambered for 9mm Luger, the OZ9c Christian Craighead Signature Model. Craighead became an international hero for single-handedly taking on a group of terrorists during the 2019 Nairobi hotel siege.
As it stands, Craighead is a pistol guy, and partnered with one of the biggest names in the premium fighting handle circuit, ZEV, to develop a combat handgun. It’s loaded with personal touches like the 22-degree slide serrations, in honor of the 22nd Special Air Service Regiment.
The slide serrations are also cut to 22 thousandths of an inch deep, are engraved with the Christian Craighead logo, and bear a personalized Blackbeard engraving, as well. Craighead also selected the color scheme, with a jackal brown finish on the steel slide and frame, a flat dark earth grip module and black and lighter FDE highlights.
The OZ9 combines a steel chassis with a polymer grip for a best-of-both-worlds approach. The hybrid-framed pistol is striker-fired and uses Glock-compatible components, built to a much higher standard.
It’s a full-size handgun that feeds from 17-round magazines with a compact-length frame and slide. It has an extended, threaded, match-grade barrel and comes with a chunky 3-port ZEV Pro Compensator V2 to match full-size accessories.
Craighead’s Signature Model sports a detachable OZ-9 PRO magwell, a black ZEV PRO Flat Face Trigger, and a slide cut for optics. Additionally, it comes equipped with a front fiber optic sight and combat rear sight.

Every OZ9c Craighead Signature Model ships with a custom hard case and two Magpul PMAG GL9 17-round magazines. Compared to other ZEV pistols, the special edition handgun surprisingly does not come with much of a price premium, although like much of ZEV’s lineup, it’s still up there.
The OZ9c Craighead Signature Model is priced at $2,222. Depending on the configuration, other ZEV pistols run from around $1,500 to over $2,200.

So I have a zev slide, barrel, trigger and part’s kit for my Glock 34 and it’s super nice. They make really good stuff. It definitely upgraded my 34. It also has the optic cut or mos. The thing runs great I have the Sro on top and it seems like a great fit so far.
So the Zev is basically an overpriced custom Glock?
Pretty TOY, way too pricey with a price tag higher than all 4 of my pistols combined. Be willing to bet two of them will outshoot it.
