Vaultek’s new DS2i Smart Station makes safely concealing a pistol in plane sight easy. This safe is made from 18-gauge steel and has room for 1 full-size pistol and mags or two compact pistols. This may be the answer to your need for keeping a pistol handy at your desk or bedside.
It comes with a four-foot steel cable to tether it in place, but you can also purchase a plate to mount it to a surface or under your desk.
What’s more, you can use Valutek’s app to adjust the brightness inside the safe, the brightness of the display, manage the 20 fingerprints it’ll hold, and more. It makes itself more useful by contact charging your phone.

You can program the biometric pad and use the four-key pad for number codes. If the power goes out, there’s a 16-hour backup battery, and if all else fails, it includes two keys that unlock the drawer from the back.
It’s powered with a normal 12VDV cord (included). It also has a USB-C and a USB-A output to charge more devices, like your bedside flashlight.
Vaultek’s DS2i safe is available now in gray, black or white. MSRP is $479.99. Learn more HERE.

I like the idea, it does manage to masquerade well as an alarm clock/phone charger. If I could find something like this for closer to half that price, I’d definitely consider it. I’m still partial to the mechanical push-button safes that don’t need batteries, but maybe that’s just me.
