POF’s Rogue rifle may be the world’s lightest AR-10. Chambered for .308 WIN, it offers the power of the world’s most popular .30-caliber round and weighs less than most AR-15s chambered for the smaller 5.56 NATO round.
One way the Rogue is lighter than other AR-10s is because it’s been forged with less material in non-critical areas. Also, it uses a direct impingement gas system, but only mid-length. Its weight is further reduced by using a mid-length handguard over the 16.5″ barrel.
Another significant reduction is achieved with a lightened bolt carrier group. It’s just about the size and weight of an AR-15’s BCG, which also reduces the mass of the bolt as it cycles, which affects everything else’s weight downstream.

POF uses an aluminum barrel nut with radial fins that is 3″ long. This heat sink nut collects and dissipates heat from one of the hottest points in the system. The long connection also increases rigidity over standard styles.
Interestingly, POF’s E2 Dual Extraction Technology relieves work for the extractor. There are small channels cut in the leade which use pressure from the shot to push the case back out of the chamber at the same time the extractor is pulling on it.
POF’s Rogue chambered in .308 weighs just 5.9 lbs making it as light as several light-weight bolt-action rifles in the same caliber. The Rogue is available now in Black, Patriot Brown, and Olive Drab. MSRP starts at $2,097.

All kinds of things to like, exce4pt for the fact that as configured it is illegal in California ( problem that could be addressed with a stock swap or a dreaded fin grip). I wonder if they sell parts…
