A Wisconsin senior citizen is alive after being stabbed earlier this week in his own garage by an intruder.

According to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, the victim had a gun on his person and wasn’t afraid to use it.

The homeowner, a 79-year-old man, had just pulled into his garage when he was unexpectedly attacked by the knife-wielding perp.

Already armed, the victim fired off a round that hit the intruder in the chest, causing him to flee the scene. The intruder would not make it far, as it turned out to be a fatal shot.

The homeowner, on the other hand, was able to call 911. His injuries were declared to be “non-life-threatening”.

KKTV News reported that while it’s unclear if the suspect and victim knew each other, the sheriff’s office is investigating this as an armed robbery and home invasion.

While it’s always a tragedy when someone loses their life, it’s good to know that senior citizens can still hold their own and defend themselves when necessary.

Kudos to the 79-year-old for being so prepared!

When will the perps get it? Never bring a knife to a gun fight. I for one hope they never will.

Know body in Washington should have guns or guards that we the people pay for and try that for years before they can vote on taking ours away. First they need to read the constitution and understand it and balance a check book.

I am 100% with you! This SOB has stabbed this poor man, who could have died in this life-threatening attack, and now this is being called a “tragedy”? I see no tragedy at all in here, our society would be so much better with guys like this one being gone forever. Luckily, he truly has been sorted out and the 79-year-old did exactly the right thing, according to my opinion.
