Why One of Kyle Rittenhouse's Attorneys Is Suing Joe Biden

One of Kyle Rittenhouse’s attorneys is suing Joe Biden for libel.

Lin Wood, the civil attorney for the 17-year-old, announced on Twitter this week that he will proceed with a lawsuit against the Democratic presidential nominee after the Biden campaign shared a video that characterized the teen as a White supremacist.

The video (see below) was posted on Wednesday, the day after the first presidential debate, and keyed on President Trump’s failure to explicitly condemn White supremacy in the moment, even though he has done so in the past and did so this week during an impromptu press briefing at the White House.

“There’s no other way to put it: the President of the United States refused to disavow white supremacists on the debate stage last night,” states the tweet.

Footage in the clip, about 12 seconds in, shows an image of Rittenhouse, suggesting that the teen is a member of Caucasian-based hate group.

Initially, Lin Wood sought a public retraction from the Biden-Harris Campaign.

However, later in the day, Wood indicated that a public retraction wouldn’t be enough and a suit was underway.

“On behalf of Kyle Rittenhouse, I shall sue @JoeBiden & Biden/Harris Campaign for libel,” Wood tweeted.

“I am partisan in 20/20 supporting @realDonaldTrump,” he continued.  “I am non-partisan trial lawyer who aggressively pursues truth to achieve justice. Put in your hearing aid, Joe. You will hear footsteps.

Wood later added in a subsequent tweet, “No need to turn up hearing aide, Joe. You can easily hear footsteps of army for justice coming to visit you.”

Rittenhouse is being tried as an adult and faces multiple felony charges for killing two people and wounding a third with an AR-15 during riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin back in August.

Those charges include intentional homicide, reckless homicide, and attempted intentional homicide.  If convicted, Rittenhouse could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Attorneys for the teen claim he acted in self-defense.  Based on the available evidence, including footage from the night of the shooting, it appears the self-defense argument has merit.

Additionally, the Anti-Defamation League looked over Rittenhouse’s social media accounts and found no evidence the young man was associated with any hate groups, reported CBS News

The Biden-Harris campaign has not commented on Wood’s plans to file a lawsuit.

I personally think young Rittenhouse should have stayed home. I believe in the cause but for that kid, poor judgement.

  • mike October 2, 2020, 5:40 pm

But you seem to be forgetting that in another year the United States will put a automatic rifle (not a Semi automatic) but a full auto in his hand and send him off to another country to do their bidding….just saying..

  • BobbyO October 2, 2020, 2:33 pm

All I see on TV is Black Supremacist and communists, also called Left Wing Democrat’s

  • Marvin Bonnstetter October 2, 2020, 10:13 am

I was in Kenosha. I can tell you none of the rioters were Republicans. The ones that were setting everything on fire was all white criminals. Punk, thug. Kids. Day time was protesters, night was gang banging thugs, and white anarchist. Could not believe the amount of guns. Worked at least ten riots over the last twenty years . Never seen guns like I have this year.

  • Chien Rouge October 2, 2020, 8:57 am

The left knows that Black voters and Hispanic voters are turning against them, so they are turning up the heat with the “white supremacy / racists BS. But Republicans have been painted as racists for years by the D’rats . It’s part of their modus operandi.

  • Dr Motown October 2, 2020, 7:54 am

“White supremacy” is the left’s new slogan for anyone that disagrees with them…The left are masters at manipulating the definition of words to suit their purposes

    • Christopher Chason October 2, 2020, 8:07 am

      Yup. Well said.

    • Fal Phil October 2, 2020, 9:49 am

That’s because calling everyone a Nazi isn’t working anymore. When everyone is a Nazi, no one is a Nazi. The same will happen to the term “white supremacist”. It will just take 4 or 5 years to run the cycle. Then they will come up with some other lable.

Name calling and sloganeering are stock in trade for leftist/collectivists.

  • Travis Freeman October 2, 2020, 7:52 am

    good sue him

  • James October 2, 2020, 7:11 am

It’s a sad day when a child decides that the adults aren’t doing enough to protect this country and decides to take up arms to protect it hisself. The negligence of the elected officials is undeniable.

    • Christopher Chason October 2, 2020, 8:06 am

      True that.

    • Andrew Ling October 2, 2020, 8:19 am

“hisself”? you mean himself? Did you attend schools? The kid killed while defending himself.
If I has his father, I would have taught him to stay in school and not involve himself in violent
protests. Anytime you arm yourself, you are in a harms way, Are you blind? You too, stay out of
this kind of debate. You must first understand what it means to be a grown man.

      • Big Al 45 October 2, 2020, 11:24 am

“A grown man”?? And you’re on him about education?
You equate age with all around wisdom, do you?
So, ‘There’s no fool like an old fool’, was never an old adage that carried weight?
        Now, another thing.
Just where did YOU come up with the idea that “anytime you arm yourself, you are in harms way”?
Are you saying that NOT being armed means one is NOT in “harms way”?
Total B.S. One can be in “harms way” under many circumstances, armed or not.
And most criminals are far more bold if they know their victim can’t offer armed resistance.
And to top it off, you tell him to “stay out of this kind of debate”.
Wow, you must be the arbiter of all things.

      • JD October 2, 2020, 8:08 pm

“If I has his father”? you mean was? Did you attend schools?

If you’re going to play grammar police, you have to do better than that!

      • Al Soto October 3, 2020, 6:25 pm

If I has his father? Do you mean If I was his father? Did you attend schools?

    • Nuker October 3, 2020, 4:43 pm

In our US history young folks always pay the ultimate price for upholding freedom. Whether drafted or voluntary, our young men, and sometimes women, are heros. No one calls him a hero because he is not wearing a uniform. He is a hero in more ways than not. He sought to help those in need because he recognized wrong and wanted to balance the scale of justice, not injustice. Good luck “hero” we are praying for you.

  • Henry Stamm October 2, 2020, 7:06 am

I am surprised that there are not more people have taken arms as vengeance against the terrorist organization called DNC. ANTIFA MLM unless slaughtered by their own are the terror arm of the DemcRATs.
I also am convinced that the criminals at that party finally succeeded to get the President Ill!!!!!!

    • Nuker October 3, 2020, 4:54 pm

Don’t worry, we are all ready for what comes out of this election. We are not going to bow to the BLM or ANTIFA flags. These movements have no idea what they are doing. It’s unfortunate we don’t push back harder. Need to focus on November 4th, the day after! Be ready. The pandemic may be small potatoes compared to what may come on Nov 4th. Be Ready!!

  • Roger J October 2, 2020, 6:41 am

Democrats have been slandering and libeling Republican’s with impunity for 50 years. They have come to believe it’s a privilege reserved only for Democrats.

    • Christopher Chason October 2, 2020, 8:01 am

      Well Stated!

  • Larry October 2, 2020, 4:02 am

    F*** his attorney. He’s a murdering son of a b****

    • Rob October 2, 2020, 7:48 am

@Larry, no, F-you. You ignorant libtard.

      • JD October 2, 2020, 8:16 pm

Agree. Self-defense is not murder. He was saving himself from three thug criminals in their attempt to murder him. Kenosha DA should be held accountable for the improper charging.

    • triggerpull October 2, 2020, 7:58 am

I agree. The video clearly says white supremacists AND militia groups. Let the lawyer waste his time and money reinventing reality.

      • Ted October 2, 2020, 8:45 am

I don’t know what video you’re talking about, but (1) the video of the Presidential debate shows Chris Wallace defaming Kyle Rittenhouse with the reference of a white supremacist perpetrating “the violence in Kenosha”, which is total horses**t, and (2) the video Biden’s campaign tweeted (it wasn’t tweeted by Biden, of course — that guy doesn’t even know who his wife is, let alone Kyle Rittenhouse) patently links Kyle Rittenhouse to the “white supremacist” movement. And BTW … there is no f***ing “white supremacist movement in America — that’s a Demoncrat lie to distract and divert attention from the very real violent insurrection they’re sponsoring.

    • Christopher Chason October 2, 2020, 8:04 am

And you KNOW that HOW? I guess there is no need for a trial or Due Process then, since YOU know the whole truth, right? When YOU get accused of some crime, the rest of us will be sure and speak-up declaring your’ guilt and demanding the noose for you. Fair enough?

    • Ted October 2, 2020, 8:54 am

You really must be an angry, hate-filled individual Larry. There’s video of everything Kyle Rittenhouse did that night, and it clearly demonstrates that he acted in self-defense every step of the way. I mean, there’s not even a doubt, let alone a reasonable doubt. It’s truly amazing that he got everything correct — he was either very careful, very well-trained, or the luckiest SOB on the planet, because he literally acted appropriately at every single step of the way along his journey of trying to do good but being repeatedly attacked by leftwing loons who (1) tried to set him on fire by throwing a flaming device at him, (2) physically assaulted him, (3) threatened him while he dialed 911 and tried to get an ambulance for the criminal thug he had just been forced to shoot, (4) chased him down the street while he tried to get to police, and (5) simultaneously and physically attacked him with deadly force twice (one guy with a firearm and one guy with an oversized skateboard who hit him in the head). And by the way, Larry, Kyle Rittenhouse could have shot the criminal who attacked with the firearm initially, but the criminal pretended to give up and present no harm, so Kyle lowered his rifle — he only shot that criminal after the thug then tried to shoot him once the muzzle of Kyle’s rifle was no longer pointed at him. You a troll Larry. An rage-filled, hate-filled troll.

      • Jet October 2, 2020, 12:32 pm

Yep, there were three nominees that night for the Darwin Awards and only two awards given. Too bad it was not three. You have to be a special kind of stupid to attack an armed individual with a skateboard. Good riddance to the rabble.

        • Scott April 27, 2021, 4:57 am

The smear campaign against Rittenhouse is ridiculous. The asshole Ziminski that fired a handgun in the air just as pedo Rosenbaum began his attack was charged with Disorderly Conduct w/ use of a deadly weapon which is a misdemeanor. Grosskreutz, the prick with the handgun, “disarmed” by Rittenhouse was not charged with anything.

Yet a couple of weeks later they added a charge for disobeying a law enforcement curfew to Rittenhouse. It’s on video that these marxists were also disobeying the curfew yet no charges for any of them so far. That shows the malice with which Kyle was charged.

Kyle’s biggest mistake was offering an “olive branch” to the leftist protestors, by offering medical care to ANYONE that needed it. I believe that is the main reason he left the property, but was then not allowed by police to return to that property. That’s when Rosenbaum, like a true child predator, noticed Rittenhouse was alone and proceeded to attack him. I hope he learned to NEVER trust marxist, leftist, anarchists.

Otherwise, he has the most solid self defense claim to ever be recorded. Wisconsin has Castle Doctrine for home, business, and vehicle, but still has the requirement to retreat when in public. He is shown retreating every step of the encounter, until he had no choice but to put down the threat actors. A lot of libtards will be crying the day his verdicts come down. As long as the jury instructions are accurate, and the jurors ignore the court of public opinion, as they damn well should, there is no way for him to lose in open court. Maybe a misdemeanor “out after LE curfew” and carrying a deadly weapon in public while under 18, another misdemeanor. For those, he should get no more than time served. He won’t be a felon AND will still be allowed to own firearms.

I can hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth already, but the law is the law.

    • Richard Lockwood October 2, 2020, 9:55 am

      And you are an idiot

    • Jett October 2, 2020, 12:28 pm

Larry, you are an idiot. You also sound like an liberal anarchist enabler democrat “parent” who is proud their “little johnny” is out in the streets throwing moltov cocktails and destroying property. All of these thugs should be dealt with harshly but democrats don’t want to harass their base.

    • Nuker October 3, 2020, 5:00 pm
