WATCH: Sen. Elizabeth Warren Refuses to Answer Whether She Supports Gun Confiscation

Sen. Elizabeth Warren didn’t make any friends in the gun ban lobby during last night’s Democratic presidential debate. The candidate from Massachusetts sidestepped a question posed by moderator Chuck Todd, who asked Warren what she planned to do with the millions of privately-owned firearms in the United States.

Rather than answer the question, Warren called “gun violence” a “national health emergency” and regurgitated policy proposals like universal background checks, banning “weapons of war,” and expanding research into gun violence prevention.

Todd, who has been soundly chastised by the left-wing media for his gun-related questions, didn’t let Warren off the hook.

“You didn’t address — do you think the federal government needs to go and figure out a way to get the guns that are already out there?” he asked.

Again, Warren refused to answer. She reiterated her idea that guns should be treated as a “serious research problem” and seemed to suggest that the only acceptable gun owners are the ones who do not fire their weapons.

“What I think we need to do is we need to treat it like a serious research problem, which we have not done,” she said. “You know, guns in the hands of a collector who’s had them for decades, who’s never fired them, who takes safety seriously, that’s very different from guns that are sold and turned over quickly.

“We can’t treat this as an across-the-board problem. We have to treat it like a public health emergency. That means bring data to bear and it means make real change in this country, whether it’s politically popular or not.”

Interestingly (and hilariously), Sen. Cory Booker also sidestepped Todd’s question, even though Booker has expressed support for a national gun buyback program.

When Todd asked how Booker’s buyback program would work, the senator helpfully explained how seven people had been shot in his neighborhood last week and he’s “tired of hearing people all, they have to offer is thoughts and prayers.”

Booker vowed to take on the “corporate gun lobby” who has been allowed to “frame the debate,” but offered no further specifics.

Sen. Warren has surged in recent days to become the clear third option behind Sen. Bernie Sanders and former Vice President Joe Biden. While Biden is the clear front-runner with between 25 and 38 percent of the vote, Warren has jumped from 7-8 percent in May to 19 percent, per the most recent polling data.

Booker is still polling between 1 and 3 percent.

    Every dem candidate is for confiscation. People who whine about calling political parties “nazi’s,need to look at what they stand for. “Free speech “for them,not the rest of us, gutting the Constitution, and controlling the “pheasants “. Gun control is just a start. They always say “if we can save just one life or child “,if they really ment it, they would be against murdering babies in the womb.     Liz warren the fake Indian is a pathetic joke… lied her entire life to get where she is, falsely using affirmative action to advance her career.. Massachusetts should be ashamed her. She preaches to the stupid sheep that they can stop gun violence by stripping away our constitutional rights… the 47 year war on drugs and they can’t even keep drugs out of Federal prison

    The last time this country wanted to make a change that was not politically correct over 600,000 Americans were killed and we all know the problems that brought on in predominately Democratic cities nationwide 150 years later. The next go around will be significantly bloodier if the Democrats try to enforce their unconstitutional Democratic Agenda on Americans who neither support or wish to have it rammed down their throats.

    It was funny to watch them talk about guns and “assault weapons”. Biden called magazines clips, and Buttajudge said he used them in the military, even though the military uses fully automatic weapons, and what he calls “assault weapons: are semi-automatic. None of those people know anything about guns, yet they want to legislate against them.

    An interesting question, but it ignores the obvious elephant in the room: probably 1 BILLION firearms distributed in about half of America’s 100 million households, and trillions of rounds of ammo to feed them.
    Do the math: if just 3% resist, and only 10% of the resisters are successful in defending themselves, those are some really big numbers for the confiscators to consider.
    Who is going to be first in line to be one of the 300,000 defeated confiscators? Warren? Booker? Harris?
