It is extremely hard to say this, but we all have to go and vote for Mitt Romney next Tuesday. As you may know if you are a follower of the GunsAmerica Magazine & Blog, we came out early in support of Ron Paul in the primaries, and strongly against Mitt. None of that has changed. He is still a sniveling politician who sticks his finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing, then announces that the wind was his idea. But despite the fact that Mitt has never been a friend of the 2nd Amendment, we plan to vote next week and we strongly urge you to vote as well, even if it turns your stomach, for Mitt Romney. President Obama has created nothing short of electoral blackmail after his comments about renewing the Assault Weapons Ban in the last debate. If you value your AR-15 and your 2nd Amendment rights, you have to get out and vote for Mitt. We all have to get out and vote, and get our friends to vote, no excuses.
It all boils down to pandering. At the moment, Mitt Romney is pandering to the “gun lobby,” which is for the most part our beloved NRA, and us. And though I do understand why the NRA could not come out in favor of Ron Paul early in the race, it is still diffulct to just give up. It would taken the courage of conviction that few Americans possess anymore for Senator Paul to have gotten the nomination, and in the end he of course did not. In fact, by the time the Republican convention rolled around, Ron Paul was not even invited to speak, and his delegates and supporters were marginalized and ignored. Ron Paul is still a politician, bent like the rest of them on controlling others, but his manner of feeding the public only what they can handle in the way of truth was working, and had he gotten the nomination I believe he would have a double digit lead over the incumbent today.
So why vote? For those of us who did support Ron Paul in the primaries, many of us area asking that question. If America is headed down a hopeless spiral, being led to slaughter by a government run by bankers, and recklessly out of control, what is the point? Both of these candidates stand for big government, and worse, for Big Brother style of government. Neither of them truly believe in the foundation of the 2nd Amendment, or that government was created By the People and For the People. If Mitt gets in we will have a new regime and a new publicity campaign trying to get mainstream America to believe that the 2nd Amendment is about hunting, and not about guarding against tyranny, as it was intended by the Founding Fathers. The answer is that there is an old saying, as true today as it was when wars were fought with swords and spears, quoted loosely by Donald Rumsfeld back in 2011.
“You go to war with the Army you have, not the Army you might want or wish to have at a later time.”
Our time for choices is gone. Mitt is the choice, and for the moment, Mitt Romney needs our votes to win this election. If we get out and vote, he will remember who got him there, we hope, and back our play to hopefully restore some of the 2nd Amendment freedoms we have lost over the last 50 or so years. The reverse is a potential disaster. Obama never got the chance in his first term to pass groundbreaking gun legislation like Bill Clinton did back with the Brady Bill in 1993, but Clinton didn’t have to deal with a dismal economy and an overwhelmingly large new population of gun owners, driven largely by fear of the President himself. Clinton passed his Assault Weapons Ban in his second term, and Obama has already stated in the debates that he would like to reinstate that ban in his own second term. This is despite a decade of evidence that the first ban did nothing to alleviate crime. Obama wants to continue down the ruinous path of disarming inner city Americans, and his own Fast and Furious project that attempted the criminalize law abiding gun dealers and gun owners along our border with Mexico was just a hint that he means what he says when he panders to his base.
Why did we feel that GunsAmerica should send a note about this in our Blog Digest this week? We have been following the efforts of the NRA and the National Shooting Sports Foundation in their attempts to get everyone out to vote. So far, they are failing miserably. I searched the hash tag #gunvote on Twitter today and there are only a handful of mentions over the last week, a week before the election. For all the money and effort that NSSF has spent on this very creative and modern idea, nobody seems to be responding and getting the word out.
Please tell your friends, both in person, and on Facebook , Twitter, Linked In, whatever, that you plan to vote, and that gun owners need to get out and vote for Mitt Romney. Especially in you are in the swing states, and many of your “friends” are city people who may know that you are a shooter, but have never seen the courage of your convictions, please have that courage now and let them know. They are being blasted with a “me too” media mentality that says that erudite, educated people have to vote for Obama. They don’t. They shouldn’t. He is a train wreck in every way. And you may be the only obstacle in their lazy brains to get them to not blindly accept what they media has been selling them.
It is nearly impossible to be a “big fan” of Mitt Romney. Mitt said on many occasions during his term as governor that the disgusting Massachusetts gun laws were just, and that he didn’t want to change them. Our national gun laws are not quite as disgusting as Massachusetts, and I hope Mitt wins and proves us all wrong by trying to change a few. Most likely the most we can hope for is four years of no new and unexpected threats to gun ownership and 2nd Amendment freedom, and maybe some veiled support for national carry legislation, We’ll see. W. had four years of a Republican congress and did nothing to clarify and guarantee our 2nd Amendment rights for future generations. If Mitt is any better it will be a miracle. But we need all do need to get out and vote next week to make sure he gets a chance to redeem himself. Please vote, and get your friends to vote. A second Obama term will be almost definitely an absolute 2nd Amendment disaster.

It appears that the blog entry (1) annoyed a sizable block of your own viewers, (2) did nothing to help the candidate you supported, and (3) did nothing to change / influence the views of the candidate you opposed: Nothing accomplished, or less than nothing.
I suspect we’ll find over the next four years that none of the boogyman fears actually comes to pass. But it won’t matter: We’ll undoubtedly hear exactly the hear the same scare stories about the next Democratic presidential candidate.
How is it that fidiots like you are even allowed to vote Rob? How many government entitlements do you get Rob? Are our tax dollars paying for your Oxy addiction through Medicaid Rob? After appointing two far left and vehemently anti-gun, anti-2nd Amendment, anti-American justices to the Supreme Court, one more will flip your gun rights, and all the rest of your rights onto their heads, long after he is gone from the presidency and answerable for what he did when the next civil war happens on our streets Rob.
Well, let’s see. I spent 26 yr in the military, defending our country, completing service as a LTC. What did you do?
I don’t remember all of it, sorry.
Admin, you sound like a sore loser. This is a democracy. I cannot believe the number of people here that questions someones right to vote. Let alone calling someone un-American because they have an opposing point of view.
In the scheme of things, how important is Second Amendment rights? Gun ownership will never go away. There will be more restrictions in the future, but no one is coming for our guns, ever.
Lets see what happens with the Bush Tax Rates in the coming weeks. Are Republicans going to walk away from the table to protect the richest 2% of Americans? I remember 30 years ago, someone making over $500K a year, paid 50% in taxes. And the country was prosperous.
Thank you for the sensible article and for the backbone to write it. Of course a less wishy-washy candidate than Romney, such as Paul, Goode, or Johnson, would have a 20-point lead on Obama by now. These Tweedledee-Tweedledum R and D candidates discourage me. Very few “conservatives” truly get the fact that it’s about the Constitution, stupid, not about the economy or anything else. Follow the Constitution and we will get freedom, a balanced budget, a small government, and our 2nd Amendment rights included too! …not to mention the other amendments…all of which are important! Thanks for speaking for your Second Amendment sister here in Ohio!
Faith, remember when the Republicans were the frugal, law and order party? When did the party get hijacked by elitist CEOs and their serfs, The Tea Party?
The President was not going to be denied re-election. There has been a changing of the guard in Washington. Republicans did not help themselves by letting Romney buy himself the party. The worst presidential candidate ever from a major party. And Paul Ryan? They make the Skipper and Gilligan look brilliant.
Romney is the only one who already passed an assault gun ban. Google it.
He will be TERRIBLE for gun rights.
Yeah, let’s all run up and vote for the one guy in this election who’s banned guns in the past. Romney is a disgrace as a republican, as an American, and as a human being. He banned assault rifles as governor, and if it becomes popular to ban them in the future, his name would be signed onto that bill faster than you could blink. Beyond that, his economic policies are disastrous. At least, those few he’s told us about. The rest remain a large blank that he’s planning on filling in later.
Beyond that, I’m not voting for anyone who wears magical underpants and believes he’ll be rewarded with his very own planet in the afterlife.
Obama all the way. He’s got sane economic policies, and unlike Romney, he hasn’t banned assault rifles.
The gunsamerica.com staff is made up of right wing morons, by the way. Anything to gargle the GOP’s balls, even when the candidate has a massively anti-gun record. Idiots, all of you.
Yes ron, you voiced all my thoughts exactly. My vote does not hinge on ANY one issue. This insane reactionary “conservatism” is exactly what the wealthy bastards that got us where we are, like to hear. People need to investigate for themselves. Do Not believe anything without proof. Please, let’s not get fooled again!
I continue to be amazed at the inane and absurd attitude of many gun sellers and owners. Mrtexas has it right.
When ANYONE takes the time to fact check Romney on his gun record (and most of his other positions…which change moment to moment) they could not possibly give him their vote as a gun owner. We do ourselves a disservice by continually believing that any Democrat is going to take away our guns, it is a mindless reaction unfounded by the facts. We have dozens of other concerns to deal with as Americans and only show our ignorance by blindly spouting off the same crap about how the boogeyman is about to take our guns away. The reality is that in four years the only gun related issue passed under President Obama is we now allow guns in National Parks! Wow, a real anti gun guy! We would serve our country and preserve our rights better by looking less like radical nutcake alarmist gun owners….fact checking what is, and coming across with a thoughtful measured response. Remember where lemmings end up.
The author of this was signed Administrator, is guess the person who wrote this article doesn’t want to be identified. I will bet that they like Christmas fruit cake because anyone that would support Ron Paul, the original fruit cake, has to be weird. I have know Mitt since we were teenagers in Michigan and no he is not a gun enthusist but he strongly behind the 2nd A and is not the wishy washy guy that he is made out to be. He will be the greatest President since Reagan and when he is done he likely will be extolled as equal to if not greater than Reagan considering what he will need to deal with, so say what you like but try to keep your personl bias out of the blog. Thank You
Unfortunately, Mitt Romney has declared war on Union Tradesmen many of whom many are avid sportsmen and hunters….for us to support someone who would kill the collective bargaining process is utterly ASSNINE…..!!!!!! I believe in the 2nd amendment, but will stand shoulder to shoulder with my Union Brothers to keep this JACKASS out of office. I’ll be deer hunting in a few weeks after phaesant season and be fully confident that Mr. Obama won’t be sending the National Guard to collect my guns.
The Administrator who wrote this article should be ashamed of themselves for spreading lies and trying to pursue ppl to vote for a lying thief.
NO president can change the second amendment, this is another lie that ignorants use
Take that stupid article off before you loose more and more members. I know I do not want to spend my money with someone who spreads lies, just like your beloved Mitt.
OBAMA2012
These messages were planted by the Obama campaign FYI. We are letting them through because everyone needs to see how aggressive the campaign backwards speak is, like from 1984. The American citizens of living in Boston New York Chicago Detroit and of course Washington DC have no 2nd Amendment freedom whatsoever. The leader of the free world has reversed his position and plans to try to take away our guns. You can hear him say it in the debate right here on the page. It is time to change that leadership even if it is too and imperfect new leader.
Hey ding-dong. It’s pretty funny that you begin your list of ‘no 2nd ammendment cities’ with Boston. Shining example of your boy, Romney, at work.
I’m unsubscribing from the Gunsamerica email list. That’s what brought me to this ridiculous posting in the first place. You have no credibility at all as a result of this post and I don’t have much expectation that will change.
–mtf
The Boston reference was intentional. Have your reading tutor help you actually read the article. Not much in there is over 3rd or 4th grade level, though you many encounter a few trick words.
This article is unbelievable. It’s this mindset that legitimizes the two-party system, which has in effect become a one-party system. Remember that both Romney and Obama are antigun, but Romney has actually passed antigun legislation. Im voting for Johnson, because it’s a wasted vote when you cast it for someone you don’t believe will truly be the best of all the candidates.
No President can change the second amendment.
what a crock of unmitigated nonsense. I hope no one thinks you speak for me or millions of decent law abiding gun owners who are not delusional, paranoid, …you are obviously yet another pawn of the gun industry.Obama has done nothing to restrict gun rights. In fact he has made it possible for us to carry guns in national paeks. I am a registered independant who didnt vote for Obama in 2008, so I would defibitely say I am coming from a non biased position. It astounds me that the people like you, who rail against anyone who even whispers gun control, dont yet rtealize that the laws have gone too far. So far that the law is now protecting the crimninals. There is something inherently wrong when a food stamp recipient can walk into a gun store and buy 5 high end AR 15 s, and walk out of the store, protected by law from even being questioned about the obvious “straw purchase” he has just made. I am 100 per cent 2nd amendment, but I am not so blind that I cant see the fanaics have went too far. The NRA doesnt care about you and me, they care about dues and t shirt sales. Another case of absolute power corrupting absolutely The NRA, in league with gun manufacturers and distributors, push a “get ur guns now before they re gone” agenda which is as antiquated as it is asinine. They re just looking for the next crisis to sell more guns. God forbid we ever have ” enough” guns, then where would they sell them ?wake up people, ..Romney is NOPT your friend, He is NO friend of gun owners, and President Obama is no enemy of gun owners. He is doing a great job with a huge mess left there by the same ones wanting back in now,, no, I didnt vote for Obama last time, but I damn sure will be this time. The Lily Ledbetter Act, The Affordable Care Act, 2 major pieces of legislation that will go down in history as popular and loved as Social Security and Medicare. If you care about this country, you will NOT vote for Mitt Romney, you will vote for omeone who really cares about the middle class and middle America, and that is Barrack Obama, .. btw, Obama will only be black for 4 more years, it ll be ok, racists, had u rather vote for someone who turns your stomach, as this author has described, . or someone who might make you mad, but wont make you sick to ur stomach ?..,Obama 2012, for anyone with a lick of sense, and not millions in the caymans or swiss banks……
I refuse to vote for Mitt solely on his assault weapons ban signing in 2004. Gary Johnson is the only true candidate for full freedom of firearms in this election. Though he wont win, showing support for a party that actually shows respect for the constitution is worth it to me. Screw the liberals and screw the New-cons. I am sure to get flak for this but oh well. At least I know I am voting for a candidate who is truly pro-gun.
Don’t be fooled by Romney. He supported the assault weapons ban when he was Gov of Mass. He is a two or three or four faced liar. I do not want any tea bagger in the WH. And before you think it, I don’t like BO any better.
As a Mass resident, I know firsthand that Mitt Romney has a deplorable to laughable record as a supporter of gun rights, and I think Obama is smart enough to know that restricting them further is incredibly unpopular. Other Romney positions are as bad or worse, so depending on Mitt to save your guns is about as smart as expecting some sort of massive gunamaggedon if Obama gets a second term. I think Obama has better things to worry about, e.g. the economy, and there are just not any good reasons to vote for Romney, who wants to curtail a number of other important rights (the First Amendment) without doing a damned thing to expand the 2nd.
If you really want to expand gun rights, vote for a libertarian, or act responsibly with your own guns, and try the honey-instead-of-vinegar approach…
I think both Mitt and Barack are talking about automatic weapons – nothing new there. They may say AWB, but they are talking about full auto weapons with large magazines. Those are already highly regulated by Dems and Reps alike in every state.
Just for clarification sake, and I know that the conspiracy theorists and LaPierre don’t buy it despite it being written into law years before Obama, Fast and Furious was a W law. That’s just a fact. The current ATF and Justice Dept clowns may have left a botched trail all the way back their agencies, but the idea, execution and origination is a beloved Republican administration’s deal.
I am wary of the president’s lack of gun love, but the fact is, he and Romney are the same on it culturally – but whomever the next president is, this is not going to be top of their list. Also, an AWB has to pass COngress – which it won’t because of the R majority in the House and the handful of pro-gun Dems.
How can any gun owner vote for Romney he is the only one running who has already banned assault rifles. If you don’t believe me try buying an AR15 in Massachusetts
Dear GunsAmerica, You are wrong about Romney! I have personally known him since the 1970s and he as fine a man as ever lived. I am also an avid shooter/hunter and own many weapons, plus I was one of the first Federal Flight Deck Officers (FFDO) to carry a gun in the cockpit as an airline pilot. You should be supporting Mitt with enthusiasm, not reservation! I know his stand on guns and he is very “pro-God-given-right” to keep and bear arms (note the Constitution does not grant that right, it merely protects it). Mitt understands this very well, unlike what you have said about him. And he will be every bit a supporter of our 2nd Amendment as you hope. By stating that voting for him may “turn your stomach,” you are supporting Obama pure and simple. You can’t do that and hope to have Mitt win. Please come out and endorse him completely! You will not be sad you did, I guarantee it. Captain Jim Green, Former US Naval Officer, Retired Airline Pilot, Current University Professor, Patriotic Constitutionalist
It is easy to be a true believer sitting around the campfire. When he was in power he could have struck down the Attorney Generals rules that nearly put every gun dealer in the state out of business. What he believes is irrelevant. What he stands for is whatever will put him in office.
We can have a successful businessman run the country for the next four years, even a venture capitalist, who clearly doesn’t need the money or the title, OR we can have an attorney with no experience in anything that would contribute to running a country do the next four like the last four. The ‘president’ bad mouths one country’s leader to another and gets caught on tape twice, further showing a lack of character. He’s quick to take credit for finishing what Bush started with Osama but won’t even acknowledge the tragedy in Bengasi…and just recently said he WOULD close the loop hole and ban assault rifles if in for a second term. Listen to the chameleon speak at rallies where different races have attended. Educated and proper in one while cussing and jive talking in another. Don’t be sucked into the absolutely crap be spewed out by a desperate campaign.
if you vote romney you wont have monry to buy guns on here he lies 99.9 % time and the .1% truth is when he says his name. all that vote for him has romnesia lol
I am in the process of winding down from participating in managing a Republican Party office. As I read the crap on this site I understand why we lose elections to people like Obama. If you people out there think your gun rights won’t be under attack in a second Obama term you must be smoking the stuff that Johnson advocates. Do any of you believe Fast and Furious was an accident or run by low level ATF people? As a retired law enforcement officer of 30 years its obvious this was well organized to eventually promote stiffer regulations on gun sales and even some guns themselves. Did they allow shotguns or 22’s to cross over, no, it was so called assault rifles. Those are are the easiest weapons to stir up the lib’s to support another ban, this time without a sunset clause. Get those and then the next type will be easier. Yeah Romney’s not he best choice either but the other candidates don’t have a clue.
Darkwalker,
Uhhh… When was the last killing in Mexico where everyone died from being shot by .22 or shotguns? Those aren’t attractive weapons to drug gangs because they’re less effective in shootouts with other drug gangs.
Please do a better job when launching conspiracy theories.
mtf
The thing I find interesting is that when Obama came into office, gun purchases soared. But not gun purchases by new gun owners, but rather a huge escalation of purchases by the same old usual suspects: paranoid NRA types whose guns safes are already busting at the seams and who are certain that somehow the U.S. government is going to go door-to-door and confiscate their guns. LaPierre is laughing all the way to the bank as the paranoid NRAers send in their dues to fund his million dollar salary. You could not be any more correct, Rob. This is an utterly phony issue being exploited by cynical a crafty pols and blatant manipulators like LaPierre who see a chance to extract the easy buck from the uneducated in our society. But you can’t explain any of this to the recalcitrant and the unlearned. Not the facts about Romney’s career as a leveraged buyout manipulator, not about the faux socialist tag they’re trying to hang on Obama, nothing about the useful functions government provides in regulating laissez-faire–none of it. They are blissful in their ignorance, and the country suffers and will suffer more for it.
Thank you!
What a coward. The person who penned this article signed it by Administrator. If you are going to ask me to vote for Mitt Romney at least have the intestinal fortitude to used your own name. I will NOT BE VOTING FOR Mitt Romney. I have nothing in common with Romney and refuse to vote for a person that does not have my interest in mind. This is a continuation of the smear-fear campaign waged by the NRA and gun blogging sites. If you were not aware, the gun industry are making money and there stock prices have gone through the roof and the prices of guns and ammo are the highest that they have been. In addition, the NRA had increased the roles in membership. As have been stated in many of the other post, this president has done nothing to restrict ownership or impose reasonable regulation.
nothing but lies only fools would vote for that JERK obama 2012 2016
I have looked at the gun issue, and the economy issue, and the Immigration issue, and the taxes issue, and as the owner of a small business, I will vote for Romney. He does not answer all of the questions just the way I would like, but he gets a lot more of them than Obama does. We do not live in a Socialist country – yet! But if Obama is re-elected we will be enslaved by socialism in a way that will take a lot more than 4 years to vote out or overthrow. I think Romney will at least curb the downward plunge that the government is in. He’s not a Regan, but I think he understands the economy and basic human rights better than his opponent. Go Mitt
I see the entire issue as phony.
Obama has done nothing to restrict ownership or impose reasonable regulation. Whether or not he may want to do such things (and doing so seems to be touching the third rail in US politics), it appears there’s no prospect he could get any such thing thru the current or likely-future congress. Indeed, I’ve heard that one of the healthiest things for the gun industry is to have a Democratic president – it drives huge buying by people who (unrealistically) fear the president will put restrictions in place.
It almost seems to me that people who fear restrictions have more to fear from Romney: He’s demonstrated willingness and ability to put restrictions in place.
Happy voting. But do it based on facts.
Get out and vote!!!!
No vote at all is a vote for Obama…….VOTE.
Let’s talk about the primary function of a Leverage Buy Out (LBO) company. Specifically, let’s talk about the business acumen of Romney with Bain.
An LBO puts up about 10-15 million of their own money. They then go to a financial institution and borrow another 50-200 million dollars in order to buy the stocks of a company they have targeted. They target companies with very little debt and good cash flows.
As soon as they buy a majority shares of stocks, the LBO will start replacing the board of directors with their own people. At this point, the 50-200 million dollar loan they took out to buy the company’s stocks is reassigned to the company as the company’s debt. (That’s right. The company they just took over now has to pay for their own takeover).
Because of their clever manipulation of a company and its finances, the Board of Director’s (mostly Bain guys) now pays themselves back their original 10-15 million dollars. Bain is now in control of a company and have not spent a dime of their own money at this point. Since they’re in control, and they’re so darn clever, they now “Award” themselves bonuses for being such great business leaders and they take another 10-200 million dollars from the company to pay themselves. They also pay the existing CEO and executives of the company they took over to “keep their mouths shut”.
Now all the top executives of the company (both the original executives and the Bain executives) have their golden parachutes.
Bain usually exits at this point. They have their profit and they’re done. The formerly debt-free company, now saddled with significant debt, is left to survive and thrive or wither and die. Staples managed to survive that little dance and survived. Romney will take credit for that. Other companies that didn’t make it will die. Romney will tell you that he had nothing to do with that.
See how that works? Nice principals.
Can’t wait to see how he’ll apply this approach to our country.
So, that’s what you want? That sound good to you. Romney is a business man. But, he neither produces or manufactures anything. He simply raids companies, saddles them with debt, and then leaves for the next conquest. Is that type of business acumen something we really want our President to have?
Ron Paul? Are you kidding me? Who could possibly take him seriously? I also take exception to your Romney comment “sniveling politician who sticks his finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing” . Obviously you, like Obama supporters, have been influenced by the outright dishonest smear campaign of the Obama and Axlerod re-election campaign and their far left supporters like Soros, MoveON, etc etc. DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND RESEARCH before makings such a sweeping and idiotic statement. Otherwise what’s the difference between you and the left?
Obama is the better choice. Frankly, the 2nd A is so firmly entrenched and upheld by such a large majority of Americans, including Democrats and liberals that it is very safe. To quote the Blue Steel Democrats; “Democrats don’t want your guns, we have our own”. There are so many other rights, like the 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th and 9th Amendments, that are of even greater importance and have a larger impact on our other, more important rights, like that of freedom and democracy etc.
Many people in the gun community treat the 2nd A as if it were a sacrosanct religious commandment rather than an agreed upon rule set forth during the creation of the Republic. In a democracy, the people decide what rules they will be governed by and that means that if we the people of the USA collectively decide that the 2nd A should be changed then so be it. It’s up to us. You can be a good American and completely support the removal of the 2nd Amendment because you love your country and you think it is doing more harm than good for people in this day and age to posses powerful weapons like guns. As a gun owner and shooter for over 10 years, I think the 2nd A is pretty cool and I want to keep it, but it’s not the end-all-be-all of freedom itself.
So in short, political freedoms are more important to me than the right to have mechanical weapons and I think Obama and his team will do better to uphold those freedoms.
From what I’ve read on these posts, most of you need to take a good hard look at what the 2nd amendment was intended to provide for and what you are saying you believe in. Paul or Johnson are very much constitutionalists, and we need people like that to remind us all of what the constitution says. That said, however, they do not reflect the overall thoughts and values of probably 85 to 90% of the eligible voters nationwide. Now lets talk specifically about gun control and more specifically about Assault Rifles. I am a retired Army guy and have been an avid hunter and shooter most of my life (70 years). An Assault Rifle with a 20-30 round magazine is designed for one and only one purpose, to fight war. Any competent hunter doesn’t need 20-30 rounds to harvest the game they want to eat. This, of course, assumes you are not hunting just for the sake of killing something. Further, if you think that you need an Assault Rifle because it is neat to see how fast you can burn off 20-30 rounds on some poor piece of cardboard, then you miss the point of marksmanship training. I’ve done all of my mammal hunting with a bolt action rifle or a semi-auto with a 5 round magazine. I generally hit what I shoot at out to about 300 yards. That to me is the thrill of the hunt. So now if I have offended all of you cardboard cutout killers, and I hope I have, let us think about voting. You can cast what I call a throwaway vote for someone other than the two leading candidates, or you can think for a moment and realize that this election is about more than only the 2nd Amendment. Take a good hard look at all of the other issues and then decide which of the two parties you want to support in this election for President. The stark reality is that either Romney or Obama will be the President for the next four years. Make a throwaway vote and no one will know or care how you voted 24 hours after the election. At least make your vote count for something!
Lots of people claim that Obama wants to take their guns. There isn’t a shred of evidence. From 2009 to 2011, both houses of congress and the white house were controlled by Democrats. NOTHING HAPPENED.
This is just one more lie.
I am a liberal gun owner and concealed carry license holder who questions the anti-Obama bias of the larger firearms community. I remember my (otherwise rational) CCW instructor in 2008 saying that we must defeat Obama because “if Eric Holder becomes Attorney General, he will take all our guns away.” Holder has done nothing of the sort.
Whats wrong with Obama’s on the record position, “We must find a way to protect our Second Amendment rights while keeping AK-47’s out of the hands of criminals” ? I personally was appalled to see two gang bangers leaving a gun show with four AK’s. What can we do about that?
I challenge all of you to practice personal “gun control” by KEEPING YOUR WEAPONS SECURE. Hundreds of thousands of firearms are stolen each year. Those guns now are in the hands of criminals and are used in ways that give guns a bad rap..
Laws- even more laws- about legal purchase of firearms have no effect on this source of weapons for bad guys. WE ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO CAN SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.
Keep your firearms secure and vote for the best man for the job. Ignore the 2nd Amendment hysteria.
I have already cast my ballot to re-elect Barack Obama.
And, for the record, my firearms are securely stored both at home and in my car when I must leave my carry weapon there to enter a non-permissive environment.
My personal philosophy that will guide me in this election is – “better the devil you know than the devil you don’t.” The stock market has recovered, unemployment is down, and although the housing mortgage problem remains is a serious problem it too is starting to bounce back.(This last crisis was caused by a law passed during Clinton’s term that de-regulated the sale of derivitives and wall street greed.) More important to this discussion is the fact that not a single piece of anti-gun legislation made it out of congress in the last four years. Furthermore the Suprem Court has spoken. Voting for an unkown factor does not make sense to me unless you are one of the uber rich. Personally I am tired of helping these people carry their money to the trunks of their cars.
We should vote for the guy that banned “assault rifles” in Massachusetts? Why exactly? More and more I think there is big corporate money behind all gun groups. There is an ulterior motive we are not keen to.
You can’t print this because intellegent sporteman will agree with me. You can’t keep up these fear tactics, as you’ like Romney (ram-me) do. Bill Clinton (8yrs), Obama (4yrs)’ have not stopped any of our rights, nor will they! They will not get my guns and I don’t believe they will try. The NRA uses this scare tactic to gain membership! I have been around a lot longer than you and have more common sense. Because of your “Extreme Right Wing Rhetoric”, you are in danger of loosing my membership. Why is it people can’t just tell the truth and let people decide for themselves. I believe in GOD & Country not liars. Good Day
Here is what the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence Graded Obama; http://www.bradycenter.org/reports/obamareport
To retain and regain our freedoms such as gun rights, shouldn’t we be voting for Garry Johnson & NOT Romney? I’m voting Libertarian, voting for my freedoms. Take america back. There’s no difference between Obama & Romney.
Looks like Guns America has been drinking the NRA anti Obama Koolaid. Obama has yet to take one gun away from any American. As for Romney, how can you trust a person who keeps changing his story? Do you really want to turn this country over to Wall Street vulture capitalist like Romney?
I’d take a capitalist over a socialist any day.
You probably do not really know what a socialist is or for that matter what a capitalist is. Have you ever read The Wealth of Nations? Even Adam Smith advocated progressive taxes and charity, which you probably consider socialist.
Responding with an insult..what a big surprise. Actually those type of statements say more about what kind of person you are then they do the person(s) your attempting to insulting.
No I have not read all of the The Wealth of Nations. You should try reading The Road to Surfdom”
I know enough to understand that Adam Smith believed in a free market system where govt played a small role. I believe his understand that it was not unreasonable to expect the wealthy to pay a higher proportion of taxes. His ideas of wellfare (charity as you call it) provided by government were that it was not unreasonable as long as it did not interfere with with individual freedoms that support a free market. That a thriving free market would reduce the need for charity and even less so from Govt provided welfare (I dont think Govt is charitable in any way).
I believe Mr Smith would believe the current improportionate burden of taxes on wealthier Americans including the further burden proposed by Obama in his Obama care and other Keynesian type programs would be considered an atrosity and destructive at best. I also beleive that the current expansion and spending of social welfare programs, environmental regulation, investment (of my tax money) into supposed clean energy companies and public facilities, expansion of foreign aid (upto 80%), and the use of tax money to prop up labor unions and their dependents would appall him as it does so many others.
Yes Obama is a socialist. Not so much as a Lenin, Mao, or Castro type but in context of modern socialist such as those in Germany’s Social Democrats, French Socialists, or Spain’s socialist-workers party. If you want to look at the The November 2011 Declaration of Principles of the Party of European Socialists (PES) and see if those arent the sentiments of our Democratic Party, its Leader, and even his Wallstreet vultures.
Our country, constitution, and its success was built on ideas of limited government and free markets from men such as John Locke and Adam Smith. Todays Socialist economic and social roots came from Marxism and accepted by Europe and is what is pulling us down to their level.
If you believe we should be a welfare state type government then by all means keep voting for Obama and his sort.
Both men claim Christ but both preach another gospel. This mean like the presidents before them we have two presidents who are cursed running again, Galatians 1:8. Look around you and honestly think about America, it has been cursed for a long time due to not holding to the true gospel, Deuteronomy 28:9 – 61.
Think this applies to America Deuteronomy 28:43? Everyone needs to hold to the bible as no gun is your way of escape Revelation 3:7-13, verse 10 is important. Owning a firearm is important to protect your family but the King of The North and South are almost complete, Daniel 11:36-45.
I would recommend everyone with a love for the truth go here: http://amazingdiscoveries.tv/c/2/Total%20Onslaught%20-%20English/
This contains 36 hours of quotes taken from all world leaders, directly from there own writings showing why most of the world is deceived.
What a load of crap, so you are saying you would vote for a liar who will bring this whole country down because you THINK that Obama is gonna take away our assault rifles? Jeeeeez, seriously you ppl are the reason this country is going down hill. When are you going to start to care about the life of our children, the future of america? Mitt is nothing but a lying SOB so I wouldn’t be surprised if he changed his mind the second day he gets in (god forbids he gets into office). Wake up idiots and stop with the racial comments and ef’ed up assumptions. I bought 80% of my firearms while Obama was in office and I guarantee you that I will double the amount of firearms I have in the next 4 yrs regardless who is the president. Do I love my guns? HELL YEA! Do I think Obama will make it harder on ppl to buy guns? Maybe, do I care? NOOO. If you have nothing to hide, u shouldnt worry. So to the Administrator who wrote this, STOP advertising wrong information in hope to support the biggest liar on earth. WAKE UP AMERICA AND START TO ACT LIKE YOU CARE ABOUT ANYTHING OTHER THAN BEING DUMB
You’re right that we should not vote for Obama. But don’t paint Romney as a sniveling politician that is simply the lesser of two evils.Anyone that knows him or any other Mormon knows what they stand for. They are patriotic law abiding citizens who are not conscientious objectors instead fighting and dying in every war – and believe deeply in the 2nd Amendment. They are by and large successful business owners and operators, practice what they preach and believe in being thrifty and self sufficient. You’ll never see them in the tabloid rags highlighted in ridiculous scandals or gossiping about others like our current President. Its also worth noting that Romney is independently wealthy, and having once held the much greater titles of Husband, Father, Bishop, and Stake President, he’s not running for President because he is looking forward to the abuse and disrespect that he’ll no doubt get – he’s doing because like all members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he believes that the US is truly a blessed nation under God, and wants to turn the country back around and back on track. As for Mitt changing some of his positions, understand this – where it has to do with standards or integrity, he is unwavering but just like the rest of us, as he becomes more educated and informed on some issues, he adapts to become more correct in his views. Which of us has never changed our minds as we’ve become better educated and more importantly – who wants a President that sticks to his guns no matter how wrong he is because he’s too proud or stubborn to admit his mistake?
As for his policies, for those who are buying into the outright falsehoods being spread by the President and his supporters – don’t be beguiled. Listen to your gut and consider the motives behind the attacks.
Ron Paul is a great guy and I know his intentions are just as sincere but in all honesty, he simply couldn’t succeed where Mitt Romney will.
For a God-fearing man that you claim for Romney, I’m having some issues. Jesus was pretty clear:
“It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
“Give all that you have to the poor and follow me.”
Personally, I don’t believe Mitt has any idea what it feels like to say that I can’t afford braces for my child this year. Or new tires for my car.
Mr. Romney should showed his patriotism during Vietnam. So have his 5 military-aged sons during the last decade of war. If you’re too busy with your religion to serve your country in its time of need, why would any American ever think you need to be the President?
We need to make it law that if you haven’t served as active US military, you can’t hold political office.
I don’t care who GunsAmerica endorses, I wouldn’t vote for Mitt Romney if he were the only one in the race. IMHO Mitt Romney is mentally ill and unstable and a liar on top of that!
Anyone who votes for Romney and his supposed anti-gun control policy is completely out of touch with reality. This man is a chameleon and is not to be trusted. Obama is not going to enact any new gun control policies, so the only reason to vote Romney is because you believe in his other wacko political philosophies and nothing else. The NRA and GunsAmerica should ashamed of themselves for trying to scare people into this vote. If you want to keep your constitutional rights voting for Romney is not the answer. The man and the crazies of the far Republican right are your worst nightmare in regard to individual rights. Vote Obama if you believe in the Constitution and its protections.
“The NRA and GunsAmerica should ashamed of themselves for trying to scare people into this vote.”
Ditto. Lapdogs of Karl Rove.
mtf
I will not vote for Romney.
For the record, I’m a registered independent whose loyalty is to the United States of America and not to any one political party. I strongly support the right to bear arms and legally carry a concealed firearm.
I find it incredulous that GunsAmerica would promote someone who’s documented record is one of deceit, misrepresentation, falsehood and consistent wrong actions. I wonder if Mitt Romney really loves America or does he see the Presidency as a business opportunity for eventual access to greater income streams. When you look at the facts and actions for both candidates, Obama is the only one who almost consistency rings true. President Obama has done nothing to endanger my right to bear arms. He helped save the auto industry, authorized the actions that have decimated our terrorist enemies and killed Osama Bin Laden. ObamaCare is the right action to begin the process of putting America on a parody level with other industrialized western nations in regard to access to healthcare! After all, people are the essence of any great country and their health and well being are of paramount importance to the state. I wonder what the so-called patriots would say about President Obama if he had allowed America to slide into a depression at the height of the financial crisis.
When you look at the documented facts (not the hype and myth) regarding the actions and policies of Mitt Romney, he is, across the board, an utterly ridiculous and frightening choice for President!
President Obama has earned the right to a second term to complete his vision and efforts for the recovery and resurgence of America.
Well said!
Thank you for your honesty. However the Clinton AWB was passed in 1994, during his first term. Immediately afterwards Republicans took control of Congress for the first time in 40 years and largely in response to the AWB. There will not be any new gun laws enacted no matter who is President this time. I understand gun folks and conservatives voting for Mitt as the lesser of two evils and I can even understand feigning excitement for him as a necessity, but I just can’t do it anymore. I have voted Republican for the last six Presidential election and win or lose regretted every vote. When you vote for the lesser of two evils you still get evil. Men fought and died for my right to vote and settling for the lesser of two evils is a disservice to their sacrifice. I am voting my conscience for the person I think is most for freedom; Gary Johnson.
Right On! Write in Gary Johnson! Don’t vote for a liar or a thief just because others say you have to! Vote your consciense, if you have one. If not, expect more of the same.
Has anyone seen Obama 2016?
I don’t understand your endorsement of Romney. On 9/24/2002), Romney said”We do have tough gun laws in Massachusetts. I support them. I won’t chip away at them.” As governor in 2003 Romney signed a law that increased the MA gun licensing fee from $25 to $100. Then, in 2004 Romney signed a law banning assault rifles in Massachusetts. President Obama, in contrast, has not proposed any legislation or signed any legislation restricting gun rights.
Only idiots will vote for the liar…
It’s Curious that on various sites you see the same crap re posted over and over again. I remember when President Obama got elected how we were all going to lose our 2nd Amendment rights, sorry didn’t happen. What i remember happening was the price of guns, and associated items skyrocketed. This occurred because of opportunists like EX Governor Romney thinking more about themselves, than the 2nd Amendment rights. Don’t kid yourself’s what do you think is going to happen when you vote someone in who has NO backbone to speak of. Romney went overseas as made mistake after mistake, he could not even relate to our allies. How about for you vote for the real threat not the perceived one generated by folks that make money off your fears. I copied from above because i feel it should be read again.
“The current tripe coming from the GOP is nothing but Nazi-like demagoguery, as you can see from some of the anti-Muslim, hate-filled comments above, with absolutely no facts involved whatsoever. I do my own research, cite my own sources, etc. I care just as much that 45,000+ Americans are dying every year from a lack of health insurance (according to a Harvard 2008 study) as I do about Americans killed by extremist organizations. The fact that so many “freedom loving” Americans have been so easily brainwashed by the far right is overwhelmingly disconcerting. Another fact for you: I know FAR more conservatives bilking the system to get money they don’t deserve than liberals, though that is largely due to my service. I also know that if you take a look at other nations, say England, who chose a TORY (that’s conservative for those of you who forget who we fought against in our revolution) gov’t, are now BACK in a reccession while we are actually growing (and would be growing more if congress would get its act together).
The bottom line: the size of our government is directly proportional to the maturity, responsibility, and civic duty of the people. This isn’t a left-right issue anymore. This is a cultural issue. There are so few of us left out there who seem to understand the need to sacrifice for their nation, as in the end, freedom really isn’t free.
Now go ahead and talk your trash on me…. The truth will always win in the end.”
Believe what you want, vote for who you think best represents you and yours. Don’t be convinced who to vote for by someone buying your vote, or pissing in your ear.
ah well, both of these jokers have voted to curtail gun rights guarented by the bill of rights,,, both are rich polititions that try to seem smarter than any of us… your not asking us to vote the lesser of two evils ,,,your asking for us to vote the better of two liars,,, bush senior fooled me once and god damn if i’ll let another repugnate or demorat fool me again , esp on so vital an issue, ron paul has been for right about this issue for decades while both the major choices have been on the other side of the issue, while i may not vote for him , i will vote either constitutional or libertarian, you compromise if you want to but there are those like the GOA that won’t on this issue…
Hmm. In my opinion, a website such as this is sort of unsuitable for a political rally. Even besides that, I would never vote for someone who wants to limit women’s rights, limit women’s healthcare, who thinks middle class people make $200,000 a year, and who thinks airplane windows should roll down. Whomever you choose to vote for, study up before you go. Don’t rely completely on their TV commercials or spur of the moment statements, and keep your eyes on the big picture.
With all the information on the internet available out there it is only a fool who believes that abortion is about women’s rights and not about eugenics and controlling the black population. Is your vote really that cheap that it can be bought for $60 a month in birth control pills? That you could possible claim that you studied, and have the audacity of hopelessness to give advice is downright shameful Maria. Go do your homework.
That’s right, vote for Mitt “The Robber” Romney, then we’ll still be able to own firearms, we just won’t be able to afford them with the increased taxes.
I’m a real combat infantryman, a real multi-gun owner and staunch supporter of 2nd Amendment rights as all our founders agreed on, and a real hardcore supporter of President Obama. The current tripe coming from the GOP is nothing but Nazi-like demagoguery, as you can see from some of the anti-Muslim, hate-filled comments above, with absolutely no facts involved whatsoever. I do my own research, cite my own sources, etc. I care just as much that 45,000+ Americans are dying every year from a lack of health insurance (according to a Harvard 2008 study) as I do about Americans killed by extremist organizations. We r doomed as a country if we don’t vote for Romney not because we like him but because we can’t have this racist Muslim Obama in the white house.
Of all the “Pro-2nd Ammendment” political parties, The Libertarian Party wins hands down. Also, “We” need to stop voting on “one Issue” or who bennefits any one of us the most. Both Democrats & Republicans are “bought & paid for politicians” and collectively have sold this country out to the highest bidder. This treasonous behavior needs to stop, and the only wayt to stop it, is to vote both side out!! I also honestly believe that eventually, The Republican Party will take away our 2nd Ammendment Rights when it suits the top 1%. Therefore, I’m wasting my vote on Gary Johnson, The Libertarian Candidate!!
I refuse to vote for someone that I have to hold my nose to keep from gagging. I will vote for Gary Johnson. If all the people who say that I am wasting my vote for a man of conscience would vote for him he would win and it wouldn’t be a “wasted vote”. I’d rather waste my vote on him than vote for a communist or crony capitalist. I’ll be able to sleep and you people can reap the consequences of voting for an anti gun slime ball. I’d rather not vote at all then vote for either of the creeps running on the republocrat ticket.
right on brother!
We should always whore ourselves out to whichever half of the establishment party the talking heads tell us to vote for.
Either way, Goldman Sachs wins. There’ll still be a money printer in the Fed, we’ll still be starting new wars with random countries over nothing, have “brave” men sitting behind a computer in Nevada gunning down children on the other side of the planet with robotic planes, government and the debt will still grow at an insane rate, we’ll still assassinate U.S. Citizens and/or detain them indefinitely without trial, selling raw milk will still bring a SWAT team to your farm, the Feds will still monitor your credit cards and bank accounts, and you’ll still get groped or radiated at the airport.
And you most of you will toast yourselves and talk about how you live in a free country and you’re brave.
Most of you are happy to reward the republican establishment for destroying the Tea Party with blatant corruption at the Republican National Convention.
I, and millions of others, are opting out of the two party system. When the rest of you grow a pair, feel free to join us and we can get back to the Free & Brave part.
right on brother! we love our country and will not support a government system which hinders it.
It is VERY hard for me to believe these anti-Romney folks above are NOT obama plants sent from axlerod to cast a shadow on Romney. These obama supporters need to give up guns and everything to do with them if they really are in fact, gun owners.
oh please. what other conspiracies tickle your fancy today. that little brain of yours cant seem to process the fact that many of us cant stand both of them!! and of course we use gunsamerica.com and own guns – spare yourself the paranoia and act like you live in the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Ron,
I live in Austin, Texas. I own several guns and am absolutely certain I can outshoot you with pistols or shotguns. Beyond a shadow of a doubt.
But that’s hard to quantify if we can’t meet in person at a shooting range. How’s this. If Obama wins a second term and puts into place ANY law that restricts ownership of firearms in any way, I’ll give you ALL of my guns. If he doesn’t live up to the conspiracy theories promoted here and doesn’t pass any such legislation, will you give me all of your guns at the end of his term?
(FYI- whoever takes me up on this bet could possibly win: 2 9mm sem-autos, 1 .40 semi-auto, 1 12-gauge, and one mosin-nagant with scope & butt pad)

some very interesting posts. i’m afraid for us all. we are once again stuck in between a rock and a hard place in this election. some of you’s are willing to bend over and vote for Romney while you flinch like whore getting raped on a filthy mattress in a sleazy motel with no lubricant. others have a backbone and will NEVER support a greedy lying flip flopper who doesn’t care about you or your gun rights. from what he’s saying, which isn’t much, he’s promoting himself more than anything. can’t y’all hear the empty platitudes coming out of his mouth? do y’all really know what he’s saying with all that pandering and self promotion? y’all really willing to vote for a snobby bastard with no real interest in our guns? please friends, do not shame yourselves and vote for Romney. do not vote for Obama either! don’t be forced to support a system that wants to sodomize you with elitist policy.
a good American will never stand for such foolishness and be coerced into a position to vote for a President that he or she does not truly believe in. this article was absolutely pathetic and quite frankly un-patriotic. if there is nothing good on the menu for you, then don’t order!
It is fascinating to me that there are gun owners above who equate the inaction of Obama during term one to what is predictable of Obama during a term two…may that election aspiration be defeated. Mitt Romney had done during his earlier years as Massachusetts Governor what he had to do given MA politics; but if anyone here believes that NRA would have endorsed Romney without exchanging views and perhaps receiving promises, they are either nutz as they sound by their remarks or simply devoted Democrats who fulfill Lenin’s “useful fools” definition. I will hope I am wrong and that they will grow up in the few days left, for if they do not they will taint all gun owners with the label of being a) disorganized and b) thoroughly brain dead.
Obama did not come from privilege, he is a self-made man. His story is the American dream. What he did inherit was a nation on the brink of collapse. Fortunately, his intellect and demeanor are well-suited to the job. He has US on the right track and deserves 4 more years.
As far as our gun rights, the NRA never had so much money (to lobby against the re-election of Obama). It’s ironic because Obama has been more of a friend to US and the NRA than any other President. Check the facts, Sturm Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Burris and Hornady Manufacturing, all American manufacturers exporting worldwide, all enjoying record profits. Their stocks are soaring through the roof while they try to meet demand, and more folks are working. In addition, talk to management at your local range, gunsmiths, or your local FFL dealer and I’ll bet business has never been better. More importantly, there is no evidence that the momentum, that this trend, will not continue. Stop and think for a minute, what will happen to critical trade channels if Romney is elected? What will happen to our American jobs?
It’ll take time because of Europe and Asia to recover, but we’ll get there, we always do. The way I see it, Obama is a proven quantity, not perfect, but in difficult times, a solid bet to return us to prosperity.
Just wanted to point out that during Obama’s term, we now have the freedom to carry concealed handguns in national parks. If the democrats were such enemy’s of citizen gun ownership, Obama could have blocked this.
Where is the NRA on recognizing this accomplishment? Lapdog of the republican party.
mtf
“His story is the American dream.”Corruption pays well.
Guns America just became like the NRA.
Oh well.
When the NRA and almost every site on the internet dealing with firearms is backing Romney, there is a reason. When Putin, Castro, The American Communist Party and others are backing Obama, there is a reason for that too. The Democrat Party has left the Christian, gun owning, working class person behind. Their agenda has totally changed. This is not the party my father and his father belonged to. Not even close. Until we find a way to do away with these two parties there is only one choice left, the Republican party. If they turn their back on us I am not sure where we will turn, or if there will anywhere to turn.
Romney signed the “ban” as it was already law before he got there.
The Dems controlled the houses in Mass.
Even if he had vetoed it, they had the votes to overturn it.
Find the actual bill and what was done.
Yes EBR’s and the like were banned, but permit costs were lowered, replacements if you lost yours no longer require starting the whole process over again for a large fee and more…
Throw away those talking points from Mr. Pants Hiked up to his chest Ron Paul will ya and do your own research.
You protest voters need to start at the local and state level with your druggie accepting candidates if you ever expect to get a candidate elected to a national office.
The problem with you Libertarians is that you think everyone should just embrace your values that want to see drug addled people wandering the streets. Ain’t ever going to happen, people don’t want that and the sooner you guys wake up to that fact the better off you’re going to be.
The SCOTUS will change this next term, and the only real options are choosing Obama or Romney, keep your protest votes in your pocket this time will ya.
But hey, it’s America, where voters have the right to be not so smart.
Said with pride from the land of Barney Frank and Ted Kennedy.
John,
If your premise is accurate and Romney’s hands were tied on the Mass. assault weapons ban, then why wouldn’t he go down fighting on it. Why would he have made this statement in a press release about it? (http://mediamatters.org/blog/2012/10/16/will-media-fact-check-romneys-assault-weapons-b/190681)
“The state issued a press release at the time, in which Romney described assault weapons as “instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.””
“When asked by a reporter if he supported the renewal of the federal ‘assault weapons’ ban and if he had spoken to the senators about it, Governor Romney replied that it was not really his job to lobby on federal legislation, but that he shared Senator Kerry’s and Senator Kennedy’s position on the issue!”
Is that really the kind of backbone we need protecting the second amendment? If we vote for Romney, it’ll prove that we’ll vote for anyone running as a republican, regardless of their commitment to guns.
mtf
Politics, real politics, is always a matter of compromises, you take the best you are offered and go with it. No one will win this election but Obama or Romney. A vote for anyone else is a wasted vote, not a protest, a total waste. Forget the lies of Obama, this economy has been crushed by two years of Democrast control of the Congress under Bush. Bush vetoed bill after bill to have them passed over his veto. Then two years of control under Obama. Barny Franks destroyed this economy almost single handedly, with the Dodd-Franks bill. That is where your home equity went.
We simply can not afford to see Obama in office for 4 more years. You can not afford it, you will probably be dead before 2017 if Obama is elected. Obama unrestricted by a coming election is a frightening thought, the UN Gun Ban Treaty is simply waiting for the election to be over and its ratification by the Senate alone. It is a treaty, not a US law. What are you going to do when the blue berets come to your door, die? Do you think Clinton or Obama will oppose gun control through the UN if given half a chance?
What will you do when this country goes into a depression, which it will, defend your home against marauders, they are just misunderstood teens, they will only rape, kill and raid just a little bit. They just want to occupy your home and redistribute what is yours to them.
Obama has no intention to protect you, it is all part of his plan to convert this country into a huge version of Cuba. We are not going to become like Canada, Greece or Spain, nope. it is a Cuba model he is after. Fast and Furious was not about an investigation, it was about gun control, confiscation and a step by step plan to disarm this country. This is a back door fist in the glove deal, F&F to create across border mayhem then the UN Gun ban. It is right here, right now.
Do not forget Paul Ryan, he will probably be a great influence in Washington under Romney.
I am from the great state of Texas (home of Ron Paul) . And while I agree that Ron Paul was a friend to gun owners and the support of the 2nd amendment, and I would say I liked about 80% of what he was all about. But the real problems were that 20% that I couldn’t go for. (Just a few examples : closing down the CIA, giving Iran a nuclear weapon, pulling our troops from around the world. He like Obama has no clue about foreign affairs and some of the stuff he said proved that. Now had he got the nomination I would have supported him, and hoped that the people around him would have gave him the knowledge he was missing. I do think that Mitt is not the perfect candidate either, but he is not all that bad, and some of the stuff in your blog makes me think you are just repeating what was put out by the Ron Paul camp. We have a (basically) two party system. Look at the platforms for each h party and you have to align more with the Republican platform than the Democrats platform. We also need to get Senators elected that are Republicans so we can make changes that will stick. To the far left this is not a cause it is their religion and they see Obama as their saviour. Oh, almost forgot RP wanted to legalize Mary Jane (the old name) for weed. Thought it would make a great cash crop. Of course if that raised enough money for government then we could move on to poppy plants…. he was for closing off outside contact a real protectionist. You have to develope relationship with other countries if you are going to survive in this world. So I agree go out and vote and vote Mitt, but stop selling us the sour grapes…. Mitt won the nomination so we should support him don’t tell people to swallow hard and vote for Mitt. Get behind the man and maybe he will listen to what you have to say. Now I have said enough.
Its shameful to see you encouraging people to vote for Romney when there is a perfectly electable candidate in the running right now that will respect the second ammendment. A vote for Gary Johnson is a vote for liberty and even though I realize his chances are slim to none he is our best chance to avoid the tyrany of Mitrach Obamney.
Gary Johnson, Libertarian, for President!
Good for you.
Well said Shane.
Johnson’s been dismissed as the Pothead candidate.
My first question is: How much do we pay Barney Fife when he’s working for the DEA?
The answer is: double to triple what he’d make working for Andy in Mayberry RFD.
My second question is: What substance is classed exactly like Heroin and Cocaine on the Scheduled Drugs list, and therefore get’s you some serious “attaboy” points for each and every arrest?
The answer is: “Mary Jane” to quote the fellow above, marijuana, a/k/a cannabis sativa for you botanists.
Evidently Barney’s too stupid to know industrial Hemp from recreational Weed, and the National Cotton Council and Polyester Fabric Association want’s to keep him that way.
I frankly don’t see and haven’t seen any threat to my Second Ammendment rights under the Obama Administration. I don’t know why you guys want to promote someone like Mitt Romney who wouldn’t know which end of a shotgun is the business end and would never risk himself or any of his family members to protect our country. On top of that he is busier making jobs in China and if left to him Chevy and Chrysler would be history.
Chevy and Chrysler SHOULD be history. Why should WE THE PEOPLE bail a bunch of lousy companies out. If they can’t COMPETE freely, then good bye to them. I wouldn’t buy a new Chevy or Chrysler product and if one was given to me I’d sell it.
You do not understand economics; it’s clear. What about the hole it would leave in our economy, if they had failed. Think of all the unemployed people cascading out of the closures; the supply system, and all the unemployed government workers, from agency closures. That is why you need to vote for the President, because he has shown he will not let America fail. You driving a rice burner, these days, you big bad patriot you. Sheesh, he couldn’t get past that GED, so he could join the service…
You need to research a little more. Obama is a globalist and he himself said that he likes Chinas economic road map. Chrysler and GM took our money and filed bankruptcy anyway. Bankruptcy does not always ends a co. It allows for rearranging debt. As a matter of fact Chrysler is owe ex by FIAT via a loan by this admin and is now planning to build jeeps in China. GM is nothing more than Union wellfare. If you want a European style socialist democracy go ahead and vote Obama. You will see the real socialist anti-American come out since he will not have to worry about campaigning for a 3rd term. He will crash our economy so he can quote “fundamentally change this Country”.
I’m afraid it is you who must do some research, the President is not a Globalist, but he recognizes that certain jobs will not be coming back to America. He is trying to keep what jobs WE DO HAVE here in America. He is also trying to stop China from flooding our markets with products at below market prices so our American manufacturers can’t compete. He’s done this 9 times.
Never allow millions of Americans to loose their jobs because YOU don’t like their Union. Don’t forget, Unions gave YOU the 40 hour work week, weekends, safety regulations, ended child labor laws, etc.
If you want to CHANGE America into a Serfdom where you have turned all Americans into slaves for the 1% and then they WILL come for our guns (here’s a hint: the President really doesn’t care about guns) and turn us into zombies. That is what a vote for Wrong-ney will do.
“He recognizes that certain jobs will not be coming back to America”? How is that relevant to this discussion? The reply was to MarkRs’ ” if left to him Chevy and Chrysler would be history” Which I then pointed out that not only did Obama’s administration sink our tax money into a failing company (Chrysler and GM) but allowed them to file bankruptcy so that he could control the rearrangment of its assets. Maybe you should research exactly who did actually lose their jobs and contracts based on the Govt bankruptcy (hint: you’ll find they were non-union or small businesses/dealers). Maybe you should research how Obamas admin loaned money to Fiat in order for them to buy out Chrysler. And how Fiat is now considering building all the Jeep lines in China and or Italy. This is not an example how he “recognizes that certain jobs will not be coming back to America” This is him taking control of an American company funding the sell of it to an Italian company (a weak one at that) resulting in them planning to move jobs overseas. Its actually Ironic that if Fiat does move production of Jeeps oversees the Obama/big labor supporters that work in the midwestern states will all lose their jobs for sure. Will be a lot more then if Obama would have stayed out of it. No restructuring there unless they want to live in China. I believe this is only the beginning.
Stop perpetuating the myth that if GM or Chrysler would have gone into bankruptcy it would have been a greater loss is dishonest. They did go into bankruptcy only this time they have been propted up by an Administration more interested in paying big labor back then keeping America competative. And as it turns out by not allowing profit based restructuring to happen. Result GM is on the brink of collapse once again. As are many of the comanies that received millions from taxpayers.
As far as not liking unions, your correct I dont like most of the big unions. I believe they are and fat and corrupt . Labor laws (however established) have made them obsolete – now they are nothing but blood suckers and profit killers. Non union companies in the south are prospering. I’m not going to bother listing the issues unions have cost this country since the steel industry collapsed. It wont do any good.
But dont give my hard earned money to a company or union without my consent. Or actually dont put my children into debt (surfdom as you put it) to prop up a losing enterprise and its parasites. Thats is the real corporate welfare.
Obama wouldn’t know what a shotgun was. He would think it was a assault weapon and ban it. Would Obama risk his life for our country. I know he wouldn’t. He’s a little weenie liberal that despises his country because it’s not a socialist state. Michael Trangari please tell us why you are going to vote for Obama. What the hell has he done that has improved the country.
I am not voting for Romney. Exactly how many guns were taken from the American people during Obama’s administration? None. THAT works for me.
We better vote for Romney if we country to prosper. If we vote for the racists Obama Muslim where doomed as a country .this country was founded on God and country any person that says its ok to b gay and take God out of everything is just simply not a Christian not because I said so because the Bible said so.
really? do you really believe in this Muslim conspiracy or do you just humor yourself? we’re doomed if religious fanatics like you spread fear to achieve their own agenda. this country was founded on the principles of the Constitution (not the Bible) which expressly puts forth the separation of church and state. this is why America is not a theocracy and evolved into the great nation that is today.
Obama stated in his autobiography that he was a muslim. Get your head out of your ass wRongney.
i don’t care if the President believes in the Almighty Flying Spaghetti Monster. The real issues have nothing to do with the politician’s religion. I can care less if Romney is a Mormon. You should be paying attention to man’s policies, Keco, you ignorant rectum.
The Bible does not make everything you dream up, ok. You are either an immigrant, or you are simi-illiterate. Either case, why would you support Romney? lol
Many folks revel in the fact that they are not labled, as a christian…you are so unlike your Christ…he would be disappointed, if he would see you at all. He was Jewish, you know. He would see most of you as philistines. And yes, God was a driving force in the control of the population and economy, at the inseption of our country. If you were not a praticing christian; they would shun, or kill you.
Obama is the most anti gun president in history And Not A Morman is an idiot if he think Obama won’t stack the courts to take away your gun rights. Just give him 4 more years of nominees and you’ll find out. I guess doubling the deficit and unemployment works for you too?
Oh he stacks them, and I guess you appoint them? Tax the churches! Get them out of politics.
I was going W/MITT, all the Way, anyway..! 4-more years of this IDIOT, Lying OBUMMA….We won’t have the Money to buy anything…He must be Defeated…!! Go Romney, Go Republicans…Best of the 2-“choices”
First if all, it’ll be a cold day in hell before I cast my vote for a compulsive, habitual and unrepentant liar such as Mitt Romney. Secondly, it is the Congress of the United States, not the President, who will be responsible for passing any kind of gun ban legislation–assault weapon or otherwise. It is certain that the Republicans will remain in control of the House of Representatives after this election; therefore, there is no way any kind of gun ban will make it through the House regardless of who wins the presidency. Thirdly, rico (whoever you are), you obviously haven’t the slightest about how the United States government works. The Supreme Court does not have the authority to ban guns or perform any other legislative actions. Their sole role is to determine the constitutionality of legislation enacted by either the states or the federal government. It doesn’t matter if there are nine liberal judges on the Court; as long as Congress doesn’t pass a gun ban, the issue will never come before the Court. And let’s face it: there are between 200 and 300 million guns in the United States; 99.9% of the people who are concerned about a gun ban or having their guns taken away already have more guns than they know what to do with. I would know; I have quite a collection myself and I’m not even part of the NRA crowd. It’s hard for me to imagine all the people who are demagogued and buffaloed into paying Wayne LaPierre’s million dollar annual salary over scare tactics that simply have no basis in reality. LaPierre has been spouting his crap since the Clinton administration, then damn near went broke during the Bush administration because it’s so hard to scare the rubes when you’ve got a Republican in the White House. Wake up and smell the coffee, folks: We have something like eleven million illegal immigrants in this country that we can neither locate nor deport. If we can’t even locate and deport a few million illegals, how in the name of god would the federal government locate and confiscate 300 million guns, the huge majority of which are not even registered? Who would carry it out? It’s just preposterous, and so many intellectually-challenged individuals are hornswoggled by this malarkey.
J H Hankins you are a complete idiot. Are you going to cast your vote for Obama who is a compulsive liar like Bill Clinton?
Secondly, If a city like Chicago or Washington DC Pass a gun ban, like they have in the past, It will come up before the courts and if you have liberal judges you will lose your right to keep and bear arms. You obviously haven’t the slightest idea how the anti gunners work. It’s will be a crime to have a gun in the city limits. Other cities would follow suit and before you know it the country would be a maze of anti gun cities.
What if you are young and don’t have a gun or the guns you want. How will you get them? It’s people like J H Hankins and there additude toward the NRA that cause these bans in the first place. If we had millions more people in the NRA there would be no talk of bans. As far as the NRA going broke during the Bush administration you are full of shit. I’m one of those rubes who is a member and am proud of it.
You do not hold a candle to , either, Presidents Clinton and Obama, as men, muchless intellectually. So, who’s really the gullible idiot? You are. Yes, you are. You’re a little idiot, aren’t you? Yes, you are…The bans are caused by the criminals and the idiots who shoot their mouths off; when they have no clue, as to what they are talking about. Too many Chickenhawks are buying weapons and joining militias, without the discipline, of being a soldiers. The myths perpitrated by the NRA and the gun industry are self serving sales tools, and a lot of you drink the kool-aide, right along with them.
No my friends – this is the wrong mentality. If your choice is between vomit and feces, do not choose either. Walk away! Don’t vote for those bastards! If anything, type in Ron Paul on that little keyboard console in the voting booth. We need a Write-In Revolution!!
It is never the right thing to support some pandering joker like Romney who insults our intelligence with platitudes and shameless self promotion. Just look at those debates – totally disgusting and scary. How did we as a great democratic nation come to this? Did we really get this dumb? I’ve never seen so much flip flopping and empty talk from Romney since John Kerry some years back – and I thought he was bad. So absolutely do not vote for Romney. Obama goes without saying. Both of them do not care about us at all. They are elitist puppets.
So Romney = WRong. Write-In Ron! Ron = Right! Do not swallow your own vomit in that voting booth.
It won’t happen. He’s no longer running and is therefore not on the ballot. Your vote will not be “wasted”, it will be thrown away. Gary Johnson is your best bet if you want to go 3rd party. Voting for Ron Paul is a serious waste of time.
Then what would you do, after your little revolution?
Uhhhh.. Guys, let’s fact check Mitt Romney’s legislative record on firearms:
“In July 2004, then-Governor Romney signed legislation into law that made Massachusetts’ assault weapons ban permanent and not reliant on a federal ban that expired at the end of 2004. The state issued a press release at the time, in which Romney described assault weapons as “instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.””
Obama has not attempted to pass any firearms legislation. He knows it would be political suicide. Guns are hugely popular in America right now. We have more television programs centered around firearms than any time in history. Obama didn’t have anything to do with this, but it is evidence that the polls are in support of guns. No democrat is going to challenge that. They would have done it after the Aurora, Colorado shootings. Or after Congresswoman Giffords was shot. Nobody said crap about passing firearms legislation.
I will not vote for Mitt Romney under any circumstances. This blog post is a piece of science fiction intended to portray Romney as a protector of gun ownership after beginning with the most truthful statement of the whole piece: “He is still a sniveling politician who sticks his finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing, then announces that the wind was his idea.” If the political tide turned against guns, Mitt Romney would be right there ready to sign bills limiting gun ownership.
The man stands for nothing. I expected more out of GunsAmerica. If we vote for Mitt Romney, the Republican party will never run a presidential candidate who strongly defends our constitutional rights. Our vote for Romney proves the gun lobby will march in lockstep no matter who the candidate is.
mtf
Mitt, should the winds blow favorably, would have no issue with passing any number of “if it’s good for Massachusetts, it’s good for all of us” laws.
AWB II – certainly. Mitt sees no reason for detachable magazine semi-automatics, be they handguns or rifles. Those are for Blackwater et al, when they’re working for our Government, or our Corporations, not you.
You can have a break-open single shot shotgun, which most closely resembles the ballistics of a 1792 era musket.
You just can’t possess rounds with shot larger than #4, as solid shot is a danger to all citizens, particularly the Police and the aforementioned most-favored Contractors, who are protecting my assets.
Mitt’s not stupid. Mitt will “regulate” firearms, NFA-style:
“We’ll register, tax, prescribe storage, and provide stiff penalties for non-compliance. We’ll register, tax, prescribe both amount possessed and required method of storage for all ammunition. That’s the Massachusetts way. We’ll ban birth control and abortion, without parental and/or spousal written consent.”
See how that worked? One little sentence… and the NRA is split from the equation.
Mitt’s loss of the NRA support will be partial, as those persons “clinging to their guns and religion” will have to make a choice. Guns – or – Religion.
If your Pastor says: “Write Mitt, tell him how important this AWB II is, with that abortion clause” – will you say “Hell NO” in open Church? Some will.
Many, many, more won’t, with the justification:
“Even Jesus Christ, your Lord and Savior, paid the Roman Tax. Mark 12:17: Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s. This AWB II is a great opportunity to further God’s work, and to further roll-back Roe v. Wade.”
We’ll start with the Firearm Owner Identification Card or FOID in Massachusetts parlance. That should require a FBI fingerprint/background check, a State Police Investigation, and interview, consent to unannounced inspections for compliance, and a $300 per year, per gun. $100 per magazine license fee.
$1 per loaded round tax on all ammunition.
Ban on civilian possession of powder and primers, as those are classified as components of “dangerous devices” and linked to Terrorism. Don’t make me go all TSA on you… as your FOID has placed you on “the list” of “can’t be trusted”.
An entirely reasonable response to Tucson, Aurora, etc… should be worked in as a concession to the Senate Democratic Leadership:
20 rounds of a given caliber legal for possession at-home, the rest must be purchased and consumed at a State and Federally licensed organized, supervised, taxed, insured, taxed, lead-emission compliant, taxed, range.
Worried about how much membership to that range might cost, after all those added expenses? Mitt’s not, neither are his friends.
How will this be packaged? The 2014 Omnibus Crime and Police Protection Act, which bans any firearm and loaded round which can “defeat” an NIJ Level IIA ballistic vest. Defeat is excessive flex, not just penetration.
That phrase would ban rifled slugs, possibly buckshot, and likely all centerfire rifle ammunition. There goes hunting… to the delight of the Beef Association and PETA. They can have competing chants: BUY a steak! Eat VEGAN!
We can defeat that… but will have to compromise. EXACTLY like the GOPA and the Hughes Amendment, which banned further importation and registration of Class III firearms.
“Oh, we’ll fix that next Session.”
25 years later, it’s still law.
And, still, a good idea.
To say that Obama has done nothing about weapon’s bans or restrictions on weapons makes me wonder. I have been reading about the U.N. small arms treaty and what will happen if we sign on to this and the Senate approves it. A treaty is not like a law where the next President can come into office and say no we don’t like what that says or does anymore so I am taking back our signature. It don’t work like that. We would be stuck with it and all the things it has in it. They are keeping this hush hush as the Obama administration has done on allot of it’s agenda (fast and furious, the attack on our embassy (which 4 Americans lost their lives), the whole Obamacare thing which Nancy P. Said “we have to pass it first before we know what is in it”….just to name a few. But back to the U.N.small arms treaty, it has bans on semi-automatic weapons, on magazines that hold more than 10 rounds, and it sets the stave that all weapons will have to go into an international register and that sets the stage for taking your weapons from you, under a international treaty …not a U.S. law. In Texas they said they were sending (they meaning the Obama administration) they are sending in U.N. observers to watch our election and make sure it is correct, our state attorney general and I think the Governor said no thank you and if they show up, under state law dealing with foreign troops they will be detained. So don’t tell me that the Obama Administration isn’t trying to remove our rights to bear arms.
What are your sources? Beides, you guys out there drinkin’ and shootin’ need to have your sails dropped, a bit.
What are your sources, specifically? I’ve heard this at a lot of gun shops and ranges, but so far, no real facts. Besides, no one can predict the future.
Mrtexasfreedom why don’t you check the facts on Obama before you spout off on Romney. If Obama knows it would be political suicide what would stop him after reelection? I’m sure Romney knows it would be political suicide also.
Obama has voted for every piece of anti gun legislation that has ever come up. He stands for nothing and gets nothing done. Why would you vote for 4 more years of a proven track record of screwing up the economy?
We don’t have more television shows centered about firearms than any time in history. During the 1950’s there were as many as 39 westerns on TV all dealing with guns. Your statement is science fiction.
They would never get a piece of anti gun legislation out of the house or the senate. We don’t have to worry about that but we do have to worry about the judges. It’s all about the judges and if Obama gets 4 more years of nominating judges it will radically change America as we know it.
You claim “Obama has voted for every piece of anti gun legislation that has ever come up.”– funny how the James Brady anti-gun group aren’t too happy with Obama’s gun-friendly first term. What are those laws you’re claiming he ‘voted’ on as a Senator? Did they limit anyone from owning any kind of firearm?
http://www.bradycenter.org/reports/obamareport
If he’s so anti-gun, how come he signed a bill allowing concealed carry in national parks?
The political suicide would be for the democratic party. All involved know this and are steering clear. They’ve got Hillary 2016 to prepare for. And if the republicans keep proposing Massachussetts politicians on their ticket, they’re going to lose 2016 just like the democrats lost in 2004 with John Kerry and in 1988 with Michael Dukakis.
To have any credibility on this issue, you need to explicitly point to anything President Obama has done to limit our freedom to own firearms. Name the statute or you are a spreader of conspiracy myths.
–mtf
Now all that good programing, with guns in them has been replaced by a bunch of idiot pundants, sprewing hatred and mis-information.
Obama has commented that he has no intention of fooling with the 2nd amendment. Do you realize what it would take to do away with it? I just isn’t going to happen.
Screw the flip flop Rmoney who wants to do away with Medicare and Social Security in which we all have paid a life time. Just in case you didn’t know Medicare isn’t free, you pay a premium and a deductable and co pay to have it and SS doesn’t amount to much besides it’s taxed just like regular income to don’t believe those who think those on SS are getting rich.
The only one that benefit from doing away with Obama care are the insurance companies because the make money shuffling paper and don’t provide any sort of service at all.
Screw rmoney and ryan
I wanted to say if you don’t vote you are allowing a few people to make all your decisions and can’t complain when they are not what you wanted…so vote, get off your butts and vote. If you were as convince that RP was the man for the job, then why didn’t you do more to support him.
I am from the great state of Texas (home of Ron Paul) . And while I agree that Ron Paul was a friend to gun owners and the support of the 2nd amendment, and I would say I liked about 80% of what he was all about. But the real problems were that 20% that I couldn’t go for. (Just a few examples : closing down the CIA, giving Iran a nuclear weapon, pulling our troops from around the world….) His own state did not vote for him, we known RP and I want him just where he is.
What logic is there in your way of thinking? I have no right to complain if I don’t vote? I have every right to complain if you do! It is because of VOTERS we are in the mess we are in. If NO ONE would vote, then what?
I gave up my consent to be governed by psychopaths when I realized WHO was behind 9/11. So I am complaining…when are you going to stop your insane activity and realize that the new boss will be the same as the old boss. We don’t NEED them. We can do quite well without any of them.
You can complain all you want if you don’t vote, you have that right. But don’t expect anyone to take you seriously.
If you vote for something, you enable it- Then you have no right to complain about it. You own it. It’s yours. On the other hand- If you DO NOT vote for something- you have every right to continue to complain and continue to NOT support it.
No that is not how it works. If nobody voted do you really think the U.S. would then become a freedom loving place. How do you get things done in your world where you do nothing but complain about what is wrong with America. We don’t have a perfect system but nobody does. Because we have so little turn out to vote we the people have given up our voice. Instead of your way in which nobody votes, how about where everyone votes…what would that produce? I guess in your mind a worse mess since voting is evil to you. NEWS FLASH… I read an article on Ron Paul (I will make no comments read it if you like: http://www.thenation.com/article/166421/ron-paul-wants-abolish-cia-his-largest-donor-builds-toys-it#
Another article I read was on moveon.org (yes I like to see what the enemy is thinking)
Anyway they were telling their people to get on web sites (especially conservative ones) and cause the people to reject the Republican candidate and listed talking points. At the very least encourage people to sit out the election. They even talked about the (great amount of support for Ron Paul, and said to use that)) I think we may have wolf’s in sheep clothing right here. The reason I say that is because on the far left side there is no chatter about sitting out the election because you don’t agree with all that Obama has done or not done. It is more about giving him 4 more years to get his vision completed. It is only on conservative sites where I see people advocating sitting out the election. So if you are sitting out the election based on your principles. And you can show me how that action will make things better, please by all means convince me
I can’t think of one thing that was done or changed by doing nothing. Can you?
Who was behind 9/11 Mark Are? Please fill us in. Are you a conspiracy kook? And you’re giving advice about who to vote for president.
Are you a gullible fool. It happened, in plain daylight; and you bought it. Who’s the REAL kook?
You, also, have a right to express solutions; and not merely, throw rocks…You are a simpleton.
Well, your diatribe was a good example, of why our kids need a good education. You can’t just make stuff up and expect people to take you seriously.
Off topic, hemp is an excellent, useful crop. Marijuana is too…The dispensaries, here, in Colorado paid 54 million dollars, in taxes. We just voted to legalize it, flate out, and regulate it, and use the tax money (Billions?), for our schools. Let’s get on with being the best place in the world to live; and give up the crap & work together. Reality dictates that President Obama is your choice, and bullshit aside, you know it.
I’m with you Ken. Romney goes beyond flip-flopping. To me it seems this man has no integrity whatsoever. He’ll change his position with no regard at all. He says what he thinks will get him elected no matter what. What will happen if he’s in the Oval Office? Is he going to just go with whoever in his cabinet last gave him advice? He has nothing inside that is guiding him, no internal GPS. I may not agree with many of Obama’s policy’s, but at least I believe he’s doing what he believes is the best for the country. I don’t believe he is going to do anything that will threaten the 2nd Amendment, sometimes you have to go with your gut. Obama hasn’t done anything in his first term that would indicate he is anti-2nd, in fact, gun rights have expanded under his watch.
I’m with you. Obama doesn’t give a shit how many guns you have, because when it comes right down to it, the government has you out-gunned all ways to Sunday, and he knows it. The idea that you’re gonna overthrow some kind of black helicopter government conspiracy with your AR is a fantasy. The biggest threat to your freedom is the corporate takeover of the government, a scenario that Romney is OK with. and he’s not a businessman–a businessman builds a business and makes things and sells them to people–he’s a corporate raider whose “business” is generating profits for investors by taking over real businesses and selling off the pieces and screwing the people who worked there. A vote for Romney is a vote for government by the very forces that want to suppress the principles this country was funded upon. “Gun rights” and “abortion” and “gay marriage”–they’re all distractions to divert your attention while they raid the government treasury and pick your pocket.
You don’t think Obama is going to do away with the 2nd amendment but you think Romney is going to do away with Social security and Medicare? It’s more likely the other way around if Obama gets another supreme court nominee. Social security is not going away and neither is medicare.
Nope, not if we re-Elect the Presidents. Lame stale rhetoric will not fly, any more…
Mitt wasn’t my first choice but he is a successful businessman who knows how to turn a bad situation around, just what we need for the economy right now. Paul’s weak foreign policy would have been a disaster and besides, it seems like many of the Paul/Johnson supporters are just looking for legalized pot.
Mitt is a successful businessman, with a rich daddy, who knows how to make the situation serve his own purposes. we don’t need someone from Bain Capital who outsourced American labor to China. as for Ron’s foreign policy, it’s quite simple. keep fucking with them and they will keep fucking with you. show some respect while carrying a big stick, and they will not be messing around.
It’s fools like wRongmney why we get fools like Obama. I would rather vote for a businessman who has actually done something than vote for Obama who has never held a job in his life. There have been millions of jobs outsourced to China that’s the American way. It’s called capitalism you little pant pisser.
the American way is to innovate at home – not ship off jobs abroad you little dunce.
Boy, are your views shallow. No WE WANT THE GOVERNMENT out of our LIVES. We want laws that are on the books that have people in a cage and no victim REMOVED. We want our soldiers to guard our borders not poppy fields. We want a national defense similar to Switzerland. We want all the federals out of the states per the 10th amendment. WE want EVERYTHING legalized that is illegal and has no victim! Wake up.
You might want things, but that does not mean you have a right to them. Grow up and stop the tantrums and vote out The Obstructionists (America needs the JOBS BILL, more than ever. Ironic, huh? Federally funded jobs to rebuild their disaster areas, in NJ. Gov. Christe praising and accepting the FEMA help that has been offerred. I do not believe Jeb Bush’s new company that was to replace FEMA, if you elect Romney. Cha-Ching! The Bushes win, again. They picked our pockets and left our country weak and in a financial disaster. Had you , do nothing, ignorant t-baggers in Congress, approved the Jobs Bill, disaster relief would have more resources…but we can lose our forests and cities; as long as we balance the budget. Don’t buy the bridge, or the bull shit…Vote Obama.
So whay? Who are you to deny them?
Of course vote for Romney, if you love your country, and don’t want to see her fall within 4 years, Vote For Romney. If Oblabla stays in your 2nd ammendment rights will be the least of your worries.
i love my country and will never vote for either of these jokers!! im an American and free to choose not to vote if I don’t have to.
Oh, well…I’ll deal with it.
Hey…who’s gunna win the World’s Series, next year? Just askin’, ’cause you were trying to be a fortune teller, there, for a minute…
Another fortune teller. lol
ARRRGHHH! Ron Paul? Might as well vote for Donald Duck for president. GunsAmerica needs to learn that politics is the art of compromise. ANY VOTE FOR AN AZZ CLOWN LIKE RON PAUL IS A VOTE FOR THE MUCH WORSE AZZ CLOWN OBAMA! Hold your nose and vote for Romney! Is the GunsAmerica staff totally ignorant of the TWO PARTY system we live in? “We have met the enemy and he is us”- Pogo.
true Americans do not hold their nose when they vote for a stinker like some dumb little kid eating veggies. true Americans do not vote for stinkers. we will not be coerced into voting for anything b/c we are free to choose what we want best for ourselves.
If you don’t vote, then you have no right to complain when your freedoms are chiseled away one-by-one.
When both candidates were selected by the same people to support the same agenda, then only a ‘false choice’ remains. There is no substantive difference between the two candidates that the little people are allowed to choose from: Both support large big brother government beholden to internationalists.
When you vote for evil, you own enable it; and become the enemy of liberty.
Enablers enable, and are complicit.
Me? I vote for liberty and for america: Using all four boxes available, as/when necessary.
And my right to complain is unalienable.
Hey, did you, JUST, wake up? Did you sleep during the Bush Rape of your rights called, The Patriot Act. Don’t be lured in by TV adds. Vote for America, and try the baggers for treason. Make them explain their cuts to the victims, of Sandy. All for a ,so-called, balanced budget. Stuff happens and when Obstructionist like Ryan, and da’ baggers Mc Connell cut civilized services. It it un-patriotic to deny one man, and hurt America. Big business leaders are not good politicians. Read history, and know that this crap has been going on for a long, long time. We are as close as we have ever been to wrestling the whips, from tha’ Massa’s hand, and being recognized, as the driving force of this nation. Not nameless, faceless lemmings, as Romney would like it to be. See, I can tell the future, too…
Are the funny papers your alma-mater?
Yes, I will go vote Romney, but I’ll have to come home and take a long hot shower afterward. And gargle with Listerine. I’ve been supporting real conservatives down-ballot in my state, which has gotten me at least a dozen demands from the Willard machine for money. Not one dime have I sent, although I sent all of the Postage Paid envelopes back with a letter detailing why I wasn’t giving him anything. Usually took two pages, single spaced. He gets plenty from the Big Banks who own him, and doesn’t need my pittance. But I’ve learned, as one of Patrick O’Brien’s characters says, to “choose the lesser of two weevils”. My prayer is that we’ll get a strong Tea Party Congress, and enough strength in the Senate, to hold Willard’s feet to the fire when he backslides from his campaign promises, (which he will).
please don’t do that man. better to choose no evil than any of the two.
That is correct!^
wRongmney and WayneB, are you saying it is better to NOT vote at all? That’s just crazy.
it’s even crazier to vote for someone you don’t want to support.
choose Gary Johnson…. don’t ignore the truth. there is no difference between Romney and Obama, they both perpetuate the same broken system. Gary Johnson is the only one worth voting for. Look him up!
https://www.facebook.com/garyjohnsonforpresident
you’re wasting your vote. the plain truth is, Gary Johnson will not be president. Reality is, either Obama or Romney WILL be elected. Johnson isn’t an option, so who will you cast your vote for?
I am taking my chances with Romney. I don’t think he wants to take on the gun lobby. Heck, I don’t think he wants to take on anything but the economy. The man wants a legacy, he’s not a slave to ideology.
You go ahead and vote for Obama (via Johnson), that is your right. If you get enough guys to think like you then Obama will be elected and the second 4 years will be far worse than the first 4.
Coach I felt the same way at first but the more I watch Romney the more I like about him in the debates he was more Presidential than Obama has been in his 1st term . And Romney is smart and knows the facts he made Obama look like a amateur and he is if you waste a vote on a third party candidate it will help Obama and hurt Romney like it or not Romney has the best chance to beat Obama
Yeah, Romney won…with all the bold faced lies, BS, and snuggling up to Pres. Obama’s policies. Flip-flopppper. You must have had tea bags on your eyes, while you were watching the debates. We need to have, only, ONE political party, so we will, all, do our jobs and not go off on idealogical rants and work against each other. George Washington thought this was in the country’s best interest. Also, Walter Cronkite was correct, when he said, that when news went beyond an hour; it would mark the death of journalism. Or spend billions to try and say, “Hooray, for my side”! Think of a billion dollars going to our schools, instead. Or prothstetics for our soldiers.
Then do not vote…Be a Patriot and vote for the President. Romney is bad, for America, and you know it; in your heart.
Of course you have to support Mitt and oppose 0bama, but you guys forget the key word . . JUDGES. Nothing will happen in Congress or the White House to kill gun rights. 0bama had huge majorities in the senate and house for his first two years, and not one piece of anti-gun legislation was passed. But that’s because 0bama knows the real anti-gun damage will come from the judiciary. Kagan and Sotomayor team up with Ginsburg and Breyer to give you four solid anti-2nd amendment judges on the Supreme Court. Give 0bama one more slot to fill, and gun rights are history. Even in just four years, 0bama has loaded the lower courts with far right left wingers who will chip away at gun rights.
You don’t have to be in love with Mitt to vote for him, but you can be pretty sure his court appointees will not be the liberal judges you’d get from 0bama. Go Mitt!!
There’s more to voting than one issue. The ban idea has been around quite a while. There’s a reason it hasn’t gone very far. Most folks, and those on the Hill, just don’t want to mess with it. The threat only exists in the Cities. Irony of it being that I have yet to hear of a drive by using assault rifles. Its hype! Taint’ gonna happen.
More important issues that face the country have to do with the Economy and issues overseas. Look, no way in hell Mittens is going to turn it all around, and no way in Hell Obama’s efforts could possibly do it in four years, actually three. He’s on the right track. Folks just don’t READ enough or listen to the experts outside of Washington.
These are, just more misunderstandings, perpetrated by some of the gun dealers out, there…It is a marketing ploy to enhance sales. No one, ever, gave the gun industry the right to tell, us, what to think, and how to vote. Their only driving force is, your money; not God, And Country. I am a Libertarian, by party; but independent, by nature. All, this talk, of Preident Obama, taking your weapons is horse hockey…the, only, legislation, that was passed was the change in the standing lawto allow gun possession, into our Nat’l Parks. Finally. So, watch your rings, when you shake hands, with your gun dealer. Jest, sayin’…John
I can’t believe any gun owner would vote for Obama. He’s the most anti 2nd amendment president in history. His voting record is a long list of vote against the 2nd amendment. He’s already put 2 rabid anti gun rights supreme court justices on the court and will have as many as 4 more justices possibly retire in the next 4 years. If you don’t think this man is any threat to your gun rights you are sadly mistaken. Romney isn’t my ideal candidate but he is the only choice we have. Obama has put restrictions on gun owners in the border states by executive order. What will keep him from restricting more of your rights after he wins and doesn’t have to worry about reelection? He’s allowed gun running into Mexico that has resulted in the killing of a border patrol guard and over 200 Mexican citizens. When congress tries to investigate he claims executive privilege which has never been done in the history of this country. He’s run up the deficit double in 4 years and doubled the unemployment. If that’s good for this country than by all means vote for this joker.
Don’t take my word for it, Google it or go to Wikipedia… Supreme Court decisions dating back to Abraham Lincoln have said that Executive Orders only apply to Federal Agency, Federal organizations and Federally employed personnel. Yeah, the military fall within that group, but legally they can not operate within the US borders. An Executive Order does NOT apply to PRIVATE CITIZENS per Supreme Court decisions UNLESS that Order is given the backing of the Congress. Again, do the research. Unfortunately, if he issues an executive order most local and state government officials won’t realize that they can tell him to go to hell, especially if the military is sticking a rifle barrel in their short ribs. If the OBOMBO APOCALYPSE happens – and it will if he is elected – we will be needing those guns to defend ourselves because it will truly be WTSHTF.
Whoopie…we’re all gunna die!
Be careful, for what you ask; as you may well get it.
Romney was not liked by anyone, during the primaries. (Or his life…) Hell, I do not think he liked himself… He was a dick, then, to his fellow republican’ts, and he would be a DISASTER, for America.
A Mormon…really? How’s that going with your new moral agenda, or majority, or religious right; whatever you want to call them…Which, by the way, is neither…Are you going to get a celestial universe, if you vote for him. He beleives, he will. Do you, still, think you can trust his judgement?
If you make up a senerio, it does not majically happen. You are buying the propaganda, or you’re a gun dealer. Fear sells guns. It is making a false fair market value on guns. Seriously…in your heart of heart…do you believe Romney could do the same thing, President Obama is doing, as well as what President Obama IS doing? He agreed on President Obama’s agenda, so much, I thought Romney was going to throw his vote to the President. Romney said so, during the debates. This tactic did not work , when he debated Sen. Ted Kennedy; Ted called Romney on it and got a good laugh, from the audience….And, do not be dis-illussioned, that right wing t-baggers are the only ones that own, and know how to use, weapons. When you sing to the choir, the quiet ones around you are silently disagreeing with you; as not to have to hear you argue & repeat the same lame rhetotic.
Speak with authenticated references, when spreading your accusations. In full sentences, please.
Amen,
Anyone who believes that voting for Rob-me is going to protect their gun rights is either uninformed or just drinking the kool-aide. Expect him to impose huge taxes on firearms and ammunition sales to make up for his budget deficits. God help us all if he wins…
Whatever you make up in your minds to sell weapons is disgraceful. Sell the weapons on their own merit, and stay out of politics. The flimsy shahrayd of inpending doom is a marketing tool and you know this to be true. The, only, legislation put forward was to allow us to carry in national parks. Scary tactics…
REDRUM, er, ROMNEY has told you how he would end everything he can think of at the time. FEMA, Police, Fire and EMTs were service said he would cut to balance a budget, over helping people in need? Guess, Hurrican Sandy was a wake-up call, to you ideologists. Why do you think, Jed Bush (ie-boy), has pulled his head up from the ashes. He has been developing, a private company to contract with the government to do FEMA’s job. More, shennanagins? Cronyism? Be a Patriot, and vote for America, with a vote for President Obama. Romney will put boots on the ground in Iran, and plunge us futher than Bush did, into the hole. Over extending our troops, and putting them back into harms way, for oil & money? Think, real, hard…be honest and not reactionary and you know I’m tellin’ the truth. Hell, he probably doesn’t know what is happening in Central Africa…more boots on the ground? President Obama has worked, for us,, against an obstructionist simple minded congress; yet he has almost gotten us out of Bush’s financial hole. Smack, there goes SANDY, again.
In ending my babbling; Don’t you think, every t-bagger here has thought of getting rid of Romney to make Ryan President? Hell, the Skinheads would treat ’em like kings, in jail.
