When Kansas City resident Benjamin Seadorf heard “blood-curdling” screams coming from the street outside his home, he didn’t hesitate to step in and help. Leaving his own four children in the house, he grabbed his Smith & Wesson M&P chambered in 9mm and ran outside.

He found a woman being beaten and strangled in her car with her three small children watching from the back seat.

“She definitely was in fear of her life,” Seadorf told KDAF. “She was screaming at the top of her lungs, profusely bawling. She just kept screaming, ‘Help me! Help! Somebody, please help me!’ over and over again.”

“As I get close to the vehicle, I noticed her top’s ripped off,” Seadorf continued. “No shirt on. Her bras halfway off, and her pants were halfway off because he kept grabbing her.”

Police would later identify the suspect as Alarick Williams and the woman as the mother of his children. He attacked the victim because she wanted him to drop her off at her cousin’s house, according to a police report. He’s facing two counts of domestic assault for beating the victim, shoving her back into her car, and strangling her until she lost consciousness.

Seadorf raised his gun as he approached the car and ordered Williams to get out and get down on the ground.

“He put the car in park, and I knew he was going to start to comply, and I wouldn’t have to go any further,” Seadorf said.

No good deed goes unquestioned, however, and while police praised Seadorf for his actions, a local “expert” told KDAF he might have been better just calling 911.

“Intervening also means calling 911 and telling them what the situation is,” Scott Mason explained. Mason works with Rose Brooks, a center that offers shelter and services for domestic violence victims. While he commended Seadorf for his actions, he cautioned bystanders from getting physically involved.

“Intervening also means recording information with your cellphone so you can turn it into police,” he continued. “I think for each individual it’s different.”

Seadorf doesn’t doubt he did the right thing, and he expressed surprise that no one else stepped in to help.

“I really feel that if she had left here, something worse would’ve happened, and not one single person in that intersection tried to help,” Seadorf said. “Society doesn’t want to get involved nowadays, and it’s sad. We need to help each other more.”

Rose Brooks domestic violence support services. I bet ole Scott is a democrat, what do you want to bet. A non-profit that lobbies the government for a teet, believes the government can protect us.

Give that “expert” a gun in one hand, and a cell phone in the other, then start choking the living shit out of him. I don’t need a federal study grant to guess which one he uses first.

In the words of the late, great Jerry Clower, “ That boy has been educated beyond his intelligence”!

The do-gooder with the recommendation to call 911 is only interested in padding his head count in the office where he works. If she had survived the beating and the cops arrived in 10-15 minutes she would then been referred to his office for casework. Thereby increasing his headcount, allowing him to receive more funds of grants to keep funding at higher and higher levels. Social workers when confronted with a social problem immediately start to bleed. They never solve a problem until they first make it worse.

If we had Constitutional Police in accordance with Art. 4 Sec. 4 of the U.S. Const. and in accord with Md. Declaration of Rights Art. 4; We would only have One Sheriff in each of America’s 2002 Counties and the unpaid & armed Common Law Deputies would be the Citizen Militia when called into Actual Service. And with manly courage, no man shall shrink from the hue & cry for assistance in defense against a criminal assault of life liberty or property with reasonable force. That’s how a Self-governing Free People govern in a Republic.

Well said, Christopher. I’m a proponent of this kind of ‘Citizens Personal Protection’ and as an LEO always tried to point out to other cops that these street people are part of We, The People, which is the foundation of our consent we give to other client authority we designate to exercise their authority based on rules that prioritize a system that was supposed to be governed by the people, of the people, and FOR the people, according to our Framers’ outline. The Founders specifically designed our system so that it would not and could not be a dictatorship/kingdom, a pure Democracy, Oligarchy, Theocracy, or anything else but a self governing by the citizens in Egalitarian rule of law for all that the greater majority consents to.

The huge problem is that this ‘arrangement’ no longer exists, Once ordained with power, our elected, appointed, and hired ’employees’ no longer do what We, the People want. This is agenda based Totalitarianism and we will lose everything as individual free Americans, if we don’t quickly get this fixed?

Where can I find that expert so that we can have a talk? He needs some things “human ‘splained” to him. The major reason our society is in free fall is because too many broken families failed to ‘splain to their children how to help, be courageous and never back down from evil in the majority NOT the minority of cases. Now these selfish cowards have grown up and some other idiot told them they are and expert.

not in front of my house, some people must be just born dumb

  • ozark ridgerunner November 16, 2018, 12:04 pm

The dumb bastard that would have the man who saved her call 911 is a certifiable idiot. Normal police response time for police in cities is ten to twelve minutes. In that time she probably would have been dead. I’m not saying that the largest part of police officers are not trying to keep people safe, but there are just not enough officers to protect everyone all the time, plus you have the time it takes to dispatch an officer, the endless questions of the 911 operator, traffic conditions and many other factors added in. What I’m trying to say in a nice way is the Scott Mason is a big government asshole.

  • AJ November 16, 2018, 11:18 am

So in other words, the “expert” (in what universe?) Advises that you get a good video after calling 911? Are you fucking kidding me? Fuck that guy. Sure call 911 and give them your description and the description of the attacker… But intervene. Does this fucking expert realize how many kids have watched their mothers die in front of them in these last couple months alone? Moron.

  • tim November 16, 2018, 10:16 am

Absolutely call 911. That way they’ll have good color pictures of the murder scene.

  • Dale Francis November 16, 2018, 8:49 am

911 is fine and dandy but by the time the police get there it’s too late.Eather the action is over or the person or persons are rather dead or badly hurt.

Right, The Police would have showed up just after she was dead.
