Ventura discusses Chris Kyle lawsuit, how he’ll spend $1.8 million

in Authors, S.H. Blannelberry

Last Tuesday, Jesse Ventura won a defamation lawsuit against Chris Kyle’s estate to the tune of $1.8 million.

In the lawsuit, the former Minnesota governor challenged the veracity of a claim the slain Navy SEAL made in his book “American Sniper,” suggesting that Kyle punched Ventura in the face after Ventura said that the SEALs deserved to “lose a few” because of their involvement in the War on Terror in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Ventura is adamant that the incident never happened.

On CBS’s “This Morning,” Ventura spoke about what he would do with the money.

“Pay my lawyers,” Ventura said, noting that he acquired two years of attorney fees. “Like I said, I didn’t have an insurance company paying the freight for me, I had to pay my own.”

Ventura insisted that Taya Kyle, the widow of Chris Kyle, had her attorney fees paid for by an insurance company.

The former pro-wrestler also lamented that although he won the lawsuit, his reputation is forever damaged in the SEAL community.

“I’m already damaged,” he said. “I can’t go to a SEAL reunion anymore. That was the one place where I always felt safe. I can’t go there anymore without looking over my shoulder now wondering who is going to come after me next.”

Wow, all these people that have to cuss to make their point, except that they don’t have one. First of all Jessie did NOT sue Kyle’s widow! How you ever got that is beyond me, he started out suing Kyle after giving him EVERY opportunity to retract his lies. Kyle decided not to do the right thing and come clean…so then the lawsuit starts. Once you start a suit you can’t just drop it when you have money owed to the lawyers, so when Kyle was killed his ESTATE was sued. The fact that his widow was left to face the music was Kyle’s fault.

Just too bad so many can’t handle the truth…

How are you privileged to the truth , were you there to witness what was said and done ? Unless you were a witness to the facts you have no idea what really happened John .

      • John March 17, 2017, 2:21 pm

Chuck, there was a trial…there were NO witnesses that saw Kyle hit Jessie, otherwise the lawyers would have had them there. I don’t have to be there to figure that out.
And there is no way to prove a negative…

    Ventura
You are a ass clown BS artist and an embarrassment to the men and woman that put on a uniform. Chris actually spent time in combat with his brothers You were on the sidelines pretending to be a fighting man. You are and always have been a big mouth blow hard. You weren’t even a good fake wrestler. I would have at least had a little respect for you by getting hit in the mouth from a real man but your nothing but a Whiney bitch. You have to after the guys wife. You pussy. Your not safe with real seals because your service record has been embellished and you attacked a dead real man.

If someone here actually knows this spineless scumbag, please print this out and give him a copy.
Jesse, I truly hope that you understand that the single reason no one has actually killed you is simply that it is illegal to do so.
Why don’t you pay the lawyers yourself and donate the money to a Veteran’s charity? Of course, that’s right, it’s easier to win a defamation lawsuit when the defendant is dead. The defendant that was killed trying to help a Veteran. A Veteran that donated millions to help his fellow soldiers. At least we don’t have to worry about your self-serving ass ever going out doing that.
I am still trying to figure out what reputation you had that was so called “tarnished”. Perhaps it was of being a shitty Governor, or a fake wrestler or a really horrid actor?
If you do actually know how to operate a handgun (since your were riding your motorcycle all over base being cool you may have missed those training days) please suck start a 1911 sometime and make the world a better place.
One last little thought for you, I hope that the Suicide Hotline is busy when you call it because you don’t feel “safe” anymore.

YOU are a putz Mr. Ventura. To go on record about how you are going to “Spend the Money”?
Pretty low rent, even for you… whatever respect you may have been entitled to before,
has been given up when you made an issue out of this. A MAN would have walked away…

    • mark September 2, 2016, 6:18 pm

WTH he was asked a question, answered it. I think it was low rent that kyle lied and ruined his reputation. was kyle a hero, maybe, but can you believe anything he said now? his wife is making out pretty good now with the money from a fabricated book, a spot on fox news an insurance policy etc…I think its pretty low rent for you to attack a man after he was proven innocent. he was more of a man for standing up to prove he was right.

      • John March 17, 2017, 2:28 pm

I agree Mark, and I don’t figure out how paying his lawyers is “low rent”!?!? They sure don’t work for free!
No one was at the trial to back up Kyle’s story, and if there was anyone they would have made sure they were there. A shame Kyle thought he had to muddy Jessie’s rep to make his book sell, or thought to make himself look big by trashing someone else’s rep.

I’m happy for Mr. Ventura having won the lawsuit. The amount should have been much higher.
This case showed how corrupt the media, movie industry and often the armed forces can be.
They went out to distroy one person’s life just to make money on a not so real hero.
It also showcases the narrow mindedness of most people believing what they’re being told by the media.
Once someone has powerful organizations’ backing the truth becomes irrevelant. It’s all about keeping up the fake fassade and the dollars rolling in. Anything is better than admitting the truth.
It’s very sad to see how easily and perhaps willingly people follow the path of the untruth.

I have read that “the vent” was a UDT member and during the Vietnam war he played exhibition basketball w/ the Navy touring team and because of “the vent’s” size played center. In the 80’s (1982 comes to mind) the UDT members were included as Seal team members. Up until then He was not considered a seal team member and only since the inclusion of Navy UDT members as Seals could he claim to be a Seal. I liked the “vent” once but not since he decided to sue Mrs. Kyle and his conspiracy show that is not on TV any more as far as I know.
