The ODA Switch & Skadi Optic Mount from Valhalla Tactical — SHOT Show 2022

The ODA Switch lets you activate your light from most any position.

Valhalla Tactical is a small company based here in the U.S. that occasionally comes out with some really clever designs. This year at SHOT Show 2022 they released two great new products. The ODA Switch and their Skadi Optic Mount.

The ODA (Omni Directional Activation) Switch is just that. A switch that can be activated from most any direction. At first glance, it looks like a gumdrop candy on the end of the light. The piece sticking out is the ODA switch. It allows the user to press on it from any direction to activate the light momentarily. Or by pushing it from the rear, you can click it on for constant on.

The ODA threads onto the lights tailcap. It can also be adjusted for tension, making it harder or easier to activate the light.

This switch was designed with feedback in mind from users in colder climates. Places where using gloves can make it more difficult to access switches. The ODA makes it easy to activate your light, regardless of gloves or what side your light is mounted on.

The ODA can be tensioned from the rear, changing it from less or more pressure required to activate the light. The ODA interfaces with a tailcap for the light. Right now it is just designed for the BALDR Light Body, but will become available for SureFire Tailcaps in the future. Expect to see the ODA around April of 2022 with an MSRP of $89.99 and available in Black, Tan and OD anodizing.

The SKADI Optic Mount.

Also new this year is their SKADI Optic Mount. It is a clever streamlined pillar mount for red dots. It uses the interchangeable mounting plates used in their RUKH (Offset Red Dot Sight Mount) and is made of aluminum with titanium locking cams.

It is incredibly sleek and doesn’t have anything hanging off of the side of it to catch your knuckles while charging the gun, or snag on gear. Expect it during Q1 of 2022 for an MSRP of around $99.00.

The production model will be all black (or another anodized color). This one is shown in raw metal for contrast.
