You know, I had never really considered how much I don’t need a holster. For inside the waistband carry, it’s probably better to just have the gun up against my underwear and let the darn thing rust from sweat contact. And now that I think about it, I’m a pretty careful person. I don’t know that I need any kind of cover for my trigger guard when I’m carrying a striker pistol with no external safety, or heck, even a 1911 with a big fat ambi paddle. When my 1 year old crawls on me, I’ll just make sure his hands don’t go there.
I wish we had all these new ideas that have become popular with new gun owners who buy stuff based on their Instagram. All those wasted years carrying a gun in a holster.
And $35 for a 3 inch piece of spring steel and a couple screws, damn reasonable I say. And now they even have $15 Kydex trigger guard clippys in case you can’t man up and carry your Glock the way it was designed by the Creator, buck naked and beautiful. I am so schooled now thankyou Instagram and thankyou TechnaClip.
I’ve been carring with a “Clipdraw” for about twenty years. Charged 1911’s, Sigs, XD’s, Berettas and Glocks. Never had a problem. The only ones that make me a little nervous are the Glocks. The 1911’s and XD’s have grip safeties. The Sigs and Berettas have hammers you can put your thumb on as you tuck the pistol. The Glocks have nothing but a 5.5 pound trigger to protect you. So… I still usually use a kydex IWB when I carry a Glock. But I have carried Glocks with a Clipdraw on many occasions. So far so good.
I don’t know how it affects other states but the clip doesn’t satisfy my state’s law requiring all firearms to be in a recognized holster when carried.
A slide mounted clip? Who thought this up? One of the most important points of a good holster is the ability to keep the slide from catching on anything – for very obvious reasons. It looks as if you can actually rack the slide just putting the pistol in your pants. Compare this to the old Keltec clip that mounts on the frame, that actually does work quite well. This is a self-inflicted wound waiting to happen.
I put one on my XDS .45 and the point of impact changed so much that I could not adjust the sights to make up for it so I removed it and the gun shoots fine. I don’t think they are worth.it. Get a holster.
I have these on every one of my carry guns now, not had an issue with any of the four models as to accuracy not at all. I have on 380 9mm 40 and 45 again not one issue all shoot at 10 yards free hand soft ball size all day long. And no one is paying me to say it .
I think this product has its place in the market, most just don’t consider carrying anywhere off their hip. I have utilized a Clipdraw system, which is much like this product, to great effect. I go to a school that allows concealed carry, and after breaking my back in July it is just too uncomfortable to carry a fully loaded Glock 19 on my hip. It puts pressure on all the wrong places. So to compensate, I have sewn a strap to an interior pocket of my backpack. To the strap I attach a kydex trigger guard holster, and a Clipdraw clip that holds my G19 in place. It is the perfect system for that method of carry. The trigger is covered, and the firearm is secured to the backpack, always pointing down.
I always have it with me when I am at school, and I am able to access it is fairly quickly in case of trouble. I am not going to be winning any quick draw competitions, but in case of a school shooting I have access to my Glock + 30 rounds = 46 rounds total. I could carry more ammo if needed. It is totally concealed. And the next bonus is that I don’t have all that extra weight on my belt. This ensures I will carry 100% of the time.
On top of all that, I throw another kydex trigger guard holster in the pocket in case my wife asks me to run into the store on my way home. In that situation it is easy enough to attach to my belt if needed. It is again a safe system, but I would not recommend it for full time use. It conceals well but it is very uncomfortable to me.
So it fills a niche many don’t consider. I carry a much lighter pistol on my hip when I am at work, or just out and about, but the Clipdraw system has made it possible for me to carry 100% of the time again with a firearm I am extremely comfortable with if a situation were to happen at school.
I am assuming you are NOT talking about a public school.

While a nice idea the TechnaClip is an inherently dangerous method of carry for Glock style, short trigger pull, striker fired pistols. Multiple accidental discharges (AD’s) & unintentional discharges (UID’s) have been attributed to the unholstered carry of these pistols, some with tragic results. This is not a knock on the Glock type design, just something that should be addressed for safety.
Glock style pistols should always be stored or carried if loaded inside a holster with a fully covered trigger guard. This goes for either inside the waistband or on the hip outside. And for godsake do not use this device to carry Apendix style, not only are you close to your “gear”, but placing the muzzle on top of your femoral artery with an exposed trigger is just plain stupid.
Sorry for the rant, but having been around Glocks since 1987, I’m well aware of this issue.

Try using a tethered to the belt kydex quick slip off trigger guard . Been doing this for years, problem solved.
If you can’t re-holster with one hand, then it’s the wrong carry solution. Based on their web sites product costs, for the same amount you can get a good reliable Kydex holster. So what are you gaining?
TW, in answer to your question: A dangerous method of carry with no upside.
Glock and other striker fired pistols without grip & thumb safeties are inherently dangerous to carry without a covered trigger guard. Notwithstanding the articulated trigger safety, these weapons fire with a very small distance of trigger pull. Their are multiple documented unintentional discharges of Glocks carried in the waistband without trigger guard coverage, some with tragic results.
Anytime a Glock style pistol is carried whether inside the waistband or on the hip the trigger must be covered. Utilizing the TechnaClip for an Appendix carry is extremely foolhardy. Not only is the muzzle pointed close to your gear, but a contact shot to the femoral artery will probably be the last mistake a person ever makes.
But other than that the TechnaClip is a nice idea.
