We have seen a lot of new products hit the market in the belt kit category over the last year, with good reason. Ex Umbris designs have stepped into this void with a fantastic new design. Founded by a retired Special Forces soldier, they have expertise on hand gained from real-world experience.

Years ago, I served as a machine gunner in the Marine Corps. My time as an 0331 lead me to always appreciate having more ammo than less ammo. My days with belt feds might be long behind me, but my days of drums are only beginning. Today I’ve got a drum for one of my favorite subguns, the Scorpion, and it comes from one of my favorite companies, Magpul.

I’ve never seen a double stack 1911 sometimes called a 2011 with these features,  fit,  and finish for anywhere close to this price point.

SIG developed a new magazine and slightly extended the grip of the Macro so that it now has a capacity of 17 + 1. The longer grip provides space for a full-handed grip while still retaining the 365’s comfort and ergonomics.

When I shoot recreationally I’m often selective about what I shoot, and I often find myself pulling out the Aero M16A4. It might not be small, sleek, and sexy, but it’s accurate, reliable, and easy to shoot. I’d take the latter over the prior anytime.

Competing in an already saturated market, Foxtrot Mike Products recently released its spin on what a modern AR platform should be with the FM-15. Featuring a direct impingement side-charging assembly, the FM-15 requires no buffer tube to operate and can be fired while folded. While I tested the complete 16″ rifle chambered in 223 Wylde, the upper will fit all standard AR lowers.

The Vector .22 is available in two form factors, a carbine (CRB) with 16” barrel and adjustable stock – and a pistol (Vector SDP) with 5.5” barrel and the absence of any stock. For this review, I tested both.

This week, we got our hands on the Caracal 814 pistol, one of the best values in the AR pistol space today. From Boise, ID, Caracal has been chalking up wins for the last few years. And the 814 is no different. Most known to the US customer for the Enhanced F series pistols, Caracal has been quietly creeping up in rifles. And now, “pistols” as well.
