Kriss USA, the company behind the futuristic-looking Vector submachine gun, just announced a semi-automatic rimfire version for the American market.

The optics-ready subcompact is a polymer double-stack striker-fired pistol in line with the rest of the 509 series with a 12+1- or 15+1-round capacity.

Bravo Company also moved the forward assist toward the center of the upper receiver. This frees up space behind the forward assist in the charging handle area, which makes it easier to use for both right- and left-handed users.

“When the M&P380 Shield EZ was released in 2018, we received overwhelmingly positive feedback on the easy-to-use features of the innovative pistol platform,” said Smith & Wesson president Lane Tobiassen in the official release.

“It’s as much function as it is fun,” said Glock in the announcement. The suggested retail price for the Glock 44 is around $400, and will likely sell for less online and in stores. Availability is slated for the top of 2020.
