This time, they’ve made the gun we’ve all wanted since we were kids. It’s not a Tommy gun…but if John Thompson had made a tactical version, it would’ve looked a lot like this.

Standard Manufacturing just announced a totally revamped version of their scaled-down Tommy gun in .22 Long Rifle, the G4S.

Standard Manufacturing’s latest marvel is finally available for purchase, starting July 11, 2019. It’s the S333 Volleyfire Thunderstruck double-barrel .22 WIN MAG revolver and it’s intended for personal defense.

Standard Mfg.’s double-barreled revolver is completely different. First of all, it’s a double-barreled gun. I’ve never heard of a double-barrelled revolver before but this gun makes it seem reasonable.

It looks like a shotgun, shoots like a shotgun, and accepts 12GA shot shells, but according to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, the Standard Manufacturing SKO Mini isn’t a shotgun. And if it isn’t a shotgun, it can’t be a short-barreled shotgun either, no matter the barrel length.

The Holy Grail of tactical shotguns has always been a detachable magazine feeding system. Several have come to market, but none of them worked well. Even those based on the ultra-reliable AK-47 fell short. For some reason, scaling up to 12 gauge just doesn’t feed the way it should.
