Winchester and John Moses Browning were tightly connected. Winchester helped Browning write patents and purchased nearly every design he’d produce, even if they were never going to produce it.

Winchester produced single—and double-barrel shotguns, lever-action shotguns, and a few semi-auto shotguns, but their main claim to fame was pump-action shotguns. 

There’s a certain magic in pump-action shotguns. They don’t share the elegance of over-under or the raw efficiency of a good semi-auto. There’s still a reason why they outnumber both in America.

This isn’t just any 12 gauge; it’s pump-assisted, allowing for incredibly fast action—just let go and it slides forward on its own.

Teaming up with champ shooter Jerry Miculek, Mossberg just improved upon these 12-gauge beasts by including optic-ready models in the existing lineup.

“The 320 Tactical Shotgun is a mainstay in our lineup and we want to continue to offer new options,” said Beth Shimanski, Director of Marketing at Savage Arms.

Turkish firearms manufacturer, Panzer Arms, launched a full-featured competition-style shotgun at SHOT Show this year. It’s got all the features you’d add for 3 gun competitions, but it seems to do it for less than the base cost of many semi-auto shotguns.

After lots of demand, the A5 is now in 20 gauge.

I love the idea of downsizing so will it stop at the 20-gauge or move to a 28 or even a 410?  My shot selection will of course need to be enhanced, but I tend to shoot over the decoys anyway.  I see this smaller gauge as nothing short of fun.
