Many American kids had fun playing with cowboy-style toy guns, and for many of those kids, the Ruger Single-Six was the first handgun they ever used and it was a dream come true. Ruger has now built on the legacy of the Single-Six to introduce the Wrangler, a modern single action revolver with timeless appeal.

As we draw closer to NRA’s annual meeting in two weeks, Ruger has announced another new weapon, and it’s a welcome addition to their pistol lineup: The Security 9 compact, Model 3818.

In anticipation of the NRA annual meeting later this month, Ruger has given us a sneak peek at some of their new offerings. We’ll get our hands on them at the meeting in Indianapolis, but in the meantime here’re the details.

Ruger, at long last, has taken notice of the aftermarket 10/22 world, and late last year the company’s new Custom Shop put together the 10/22 Competition Rifle. It’s a sweet shooter, and it comes with all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a premium .22 firearm.

But how does it stack up against a custom build? That’s the question I wanted to answer, so I reached out to one of my gun buddies who owns one. Before we get down to the nitty-gritty, you should know a few things about Ruger’s new Competition 10/22.

I have finally gotten my hands on the last of my top 5 from SHOT Show 2018. And in a year of Pistol Caliber Carbines, the one I was most looking forward to. I am talking about the new Ruger PCC, of course, a gun that is all but guaranteed to punch way above its weight.

The Ruger Single-Six Revolver has been around since 1953. Since then, there have been a multitude of different models of this handy small-framed single action. It was on a Ruger Single-Six 22 that I first learned how to shoot a handgun and I suspect that is the case for a lot of people. A couple of years ago Ruger came out with a special model of this wheel gun as an exclusive for one of their distributors. This version is called the Single-Seven and it is chambered in .327 Federal Magnum.
