New York City continues to prohibit private citizens from possessing stun guns and similar electronic self-defense devices, tools that are legal and commonly used across much of the United States.

No law enforcement, no NRA certs, no competition backgrounds. Just personal anecdotes like, “I grew up with guns.”

The Associated Press called the race Tuesday night, with the measure passing by a comfortable margin.

The issue stems from Hawaii’s post-Bruen carry law and a controversial provision gun owners are calling the “Vampire Clause.”
