Kimber announced this week their new product lineup for 2019, and along with small tweaks to their usual fare, the company offered something totally new: an all-metal striker-fired 9mm handgun they’re calling the EVO SP. The EVO SP departs from the 1911-style handguns and revolvers the company has historically produced, but Kimber says it’s ready for the real world.

Montana-based firearms manufacturer Shield Arms announced this week the release of the world’s first folding AR-15 lower receiver, the aptly-named Folding Lower Receiver (FLR). Currently only offered in the 9mm SA-9 Stripped Receiver, the FLR features a folding mechanism machined directly into the 7075 billet aluminum receiver.

After several months in the works, CZ-USA will now be making P-10 pistols right in the heart of the U.S., Kansas City. They’re also expanding the series with subcompact and full-size models.

The updated B model has a reversible push-button magazine release along with all the features that make the VP9 the success it’s been.

The explosion of the concealed carry market has meant nothing but good news for gun nuts. Gun manufacturers have been more than happy to oblige, though some have been quicker than others. Walther is among the last of the major handgun companies to offer a subcompact semi-auto, but, as the old saying goes, good things come to those who wait.

Ruger is adding a new premium line of factory-tuned rifles and pistols with the new Custom Shop as well as magnum RPRs and a long-awaited SP101.
