This week, we got our hands on the latest member of the SIG miniature red dot family, the Romeo 1 Pro. Designed to slide mount on pistols, with the option available for Picatinny mounting to rifles, this little guy is a great addition to the lineup. Most of you are probably asking what is the difference between the Romeo 1 and the Romeo 1 Pro, and that is a valid question. The answer requires a little bit of storytime though.

BY True Pearce Published: September 5, 2022 { 0 comments }Eberlestock is famous in the special forces world for their backpacks. They’ve recently been breaking into the hunting market with lighter-weight packs, technical clothing, and a brand new bino pack that just might be the best I’ve ever tested. The Eberlestock Recon is pretty legit. Prior to this, my go-to bino pack was the Alaska [...]

While lesser known than some of the other European scope manufacturers, Meopta has been making high-end optics for nearly a century, and with an MSRP of $450, this is one of the most economical ways to get some European glass on your rifle.

The Romeo5 Predator – Ain’t Got Time to Bleed
BY Travis Pike Published: May 15, 2022 { 0 comments }In the gun world, Predator can mean a lot of things. Typically Predator is a name applied to hunting optics, gun, camouflage finishes, and the like. The Predator namesake in this regard has nothing to do with hunting. It’s a reference to the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger film featuring an alien-hunting A team of black ops commandos in the jungle. How does that translate to an optic?
Thermal Review: Bering Optics R-35 vs Hogster Stimulus
BY Clay Martin Published: May 2, 2022 { 0 comments }The Bering Optics Hogster Stimulus is no question fantastic for the dollar, if you are on a very limited budget. At $1599, you would be hard pressed to find something that will hang with it as far as capabilities go. But what if you have a little more in the tank? To answer that question, we took a look at the Stimulus side by side with Hogster R-35.
Vortex Spitfire Gen 2 HD 3X Prism
BY Travis Pike Published: April 17, 2022 { 0 comments }The Vortex Spitfire Gen 2 HD is my new example for the reasons why prism optics rock. The Spitfire’s small size but capable magnification make it a perfect carbine optic. It’s no designated marksman’s optic, but for the typical carbine ranges, the Spitfire works and works well. The price point is affordable, and the optic is well suited for a variety of firearms.
Primary Arms SLx MicroPrism
BY Clay Martin Published: April 2, 2022 { 7 comments }olute bargain at $249, and I recommend you grab one while the grabbing is good. This is a great value optic and given the supply chain so far this year, probably going to be in short supply. You can also look forward to some long-term durability testing on mine over the next year because I’m not sending it back. And that is the strongest endorsement I know how to give.
