It seems that everyone is making a budget rifle scope these days, but that is a great thing! Competition leads to innovation in the industry and lower prices for the consumer. Viridian Weapon Technologies has a line of optics and I’ve been playing with the pinnacle of their lineup: the 3.5-10×40 SERAC.

I’ve been testing the new Primary Arms GLx 4-16x50mm FFP Illuminated Mil-Dot scope. It’s actually got some great features that are better executed than scopes costing twice as much money.

Michigan-based optics manufacturer Trijicon, Inc., has accused Holosun Technologies, Inc., of violating one of its patents that protects the Trijicon Ruggedized Miniature Reflex (RMR) sight as well as the Specialized Reflex Optic (SRO).

The answer to, “What is the best budget long-range rifle scope?” is definitely up for debate, along with other related topics. Because of this, let’s discuss why I think Vortex’s Strike Eagle 5-25×56 is the clear winner of its division.

The MRO as of right now is the best deal I’ve seen in red dots. Familiar performance, Trijicon quality, and a price that is unbeatable. Not to mention, the MRO is 100% American made.

I promise you this; the Primary Arms SLx MD-25 has earned a place in my arsenal. They aren’t getting this one back.

After testing one of these new riflescopes, which are built with the rugged durability you would expect from a company that has spent decades developing optics for the U.S. armed forces, I believe Trijicon has hit the sweet spot in balancing quality and price.

Red dots sights are ready for duty and carry on handguns. They are a mature technology and provide every shooter with the ability to see faster and shoot better. There is no excuse to remain in the dark ages.

I’m comfortable in saying that this scope is hitting well above its pay grade and competing quite well with scopes costing $1,000 more. It has great glass, great turrets, perfect tracking, and checks all the right boxes for a long-range precision riflescope.
