The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®) today is praising a milestone achievement of a 241 percent increase of state submissions of adjudicated mental health records to the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System database since the firearms industry launched the FixNICS® campaign in 2013.

It makes you nostalgic for the days of old when at least gun control politicians tried to be sly. No longer.

If Governor Murphy wants to work on real solutions to make our communities safer, he needs to work with the firearms industry.

Recently, Sen. Booker tweeted “If you need a license to drive a car, you should need a license to buy and possess a gun. Some states are doing this already — and it saves lives.”

In an interview with CNN, Rep. Richmond said “we have cities that are banning plastic straws, and we can’t ban assault weapons? That just doesn’t make sense to me.”

It’s the proposal of a despot aimed as seizing government control of our financial institutions to kill of the industries that person doesn’t like.

It is rare to see a study published that echoes our message: enforce existing gun laws. Prosecute criminals.

Through a series of deliberately terrible study design choices, the authors conclude that there are fewer children dying from firearm-related causes in states with more gun control laws.
