Beleaguered Washington, D.C., gun owners had reason to celebrate yesterday as a federal judge released a ruling that could make it easier to obtain a concealed carry permit.

Kansas Republican Gov. Sam Brownback signed a bill last Friday that makes a number of changes to the state’s firearms laws, including a provision that protects the right of government employees to carry concealed firearms while working outside of government buildings.

Sen. Chuck Schumer has earned the ire of a prominent gun-control organization after dithering on his promise to reintroduce a bill that would criminalize private transfers aka mandate universal background checks for all gun purchases, including those made between private buyers and sellers.
