The Second Amendment Foundation scored a big victory this week in convincing an Illinois judge to swat back a draconian gun ban in Deerfield, Illinois that would fine those who refused to comply $1,000 per day.

A Florida judge signed a “risk protection order” last week that allowed the Broward County Sheriff’s Office to seize 67 guns from a bailiff deemed to be a risk to himself or others. The order was signed after the bailiff, Franklin Joseph Pinter, allegedly exhibited troubling behavior in the courthouse.

“We are trying to get the same question answered,” said King in an email to GunsAmerica. “Unlike other states there are no public hearings on these bills and we have to rely on them answering questions. Since this is a Cuomo bill I expect the worst.”

In the wake of the 2015 mass murder at a church in Charleston, S.C., lawmakers have called for an end to the 72-hour background check rule. Opponents argue that giving the FBI unlimited time to complete a NICS check could indefinitely suspend a citizen’s Second Amendment rights, and now a new lawsuit is shedding light on just how incompetent the feds can be.

The notice specifically states that the new Sub Compact Weapon, or SCW, needs to be a “highly concealable sub compact weapon system capable of engaging threat personnel with a high volume of lethal and accurate fires at close range with minimal collateral damage.”

Calling school shootings a “new and frightening phenomenon,” Cuomo said that rolling out a red flag bill is the “next step” to improving public safety.

A Florida Sherriff’s deputy chief ended a brief standoff between officers and a hammer-wielding man with a couple of well-placed cans of baked beans.

“Too many American children will never have the opportunity to realize their dreams because their lives were cut short by a bullet,” said Hillary. “Our kids deserve to live free from the threat of gun violence”
