A Sub-$450 Bolt-Action Ringing Steel At 1,800 Yards — Mossberg’s Patriot Predator
BY Thomas Gomez Updated: April 12, 2020I fondly remember picking up my grandfathers old dusty, faded hunting magazines and reading about hunting rifles. Unless you were buying a rifle from Kenny Jarrett, or other custom builders, sub-MOA rifles were nary to be found. Sometime during the late 90’s or early 2000, factory rifles started to appear that could produce MOA results with factory ammunition. These days, companies guarantee MOA accuracy and owners seem to fly into a fit of panic if their new rifle fails to group 1.047 inches at 100 yards. I recently got to spend some time behind a Mossberg Patriot Predator rifle, chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, and had no problems hitting a 24-inch plate at 1,800 yards. How times have changed.

Kestrel 5700 Ballistic Weather Meter With Hornady 4DOF: Full Review
BY Riley Baxter Updated: November 23, 2019The Kestrel 5700 with 4DOF (for short), is compact and robust. These traits are necessary for a unit designed for long range shooters because many applications including hunting, military and competitive uses put the ultimate strain on equipment due to harsh environmental conditions, rough handling and long hours of use. This weather meter is drop tested, waterproof and dust-proof, which I have verified through my months of use while I’ve had it.

Hornady’s New Aluminum-Tipped Bullet Could Change the Long-Range Game Forever – NRA 2019
BY Jordan Michaels Updated: April 26, 2019“Bullet technology,” once the territory none but the most neurotic gun nerds, has gone mainstream. Companies like Sierra, Nosler, and Hornady now mold hunks of lead and copper using the most cutting-edge technology—literally, rocket science.
Hornady’s new ATip Match bullet might be the next step in that technological evolution.
New Hornady 224 Valkyrie loadings – Black and Varmint Express
BY Clay Martin Updated: March 15, 2019One of the great stories of 2018 was the introduction of a new caliber by Federal, the 224 Valkyrie. Initially announced in October of 2017, by SHOT Show 2018, the world was abuzz. The 224 Valkyrie promised to turbocharge the small frame AR rifle, with ballistics that blew the doors off past challengers such as 6.5 Grendal and 22 Nosler. It helped that it was released and backed by Federal, a giant in the ammunition industry. But still, many people questioned the new caliber? Would it deliver? And would it catch on enough to remain available?
