We are truly living in the golden age of handguns, as this week’s test model will attest. My test model is the 509C or compact. While I usually prefer to get my hands on the full-sized model first, the 509C brings everything I like in a pistol to the table.

FN America is expanding on its 5-series of duty guns with the new pocket-sized FN 503 for backup and concealed-carry chambered in 9mm.

When I first received the FN Five-seveN (FN 57 from here out), I immediately took notice of how lightweight it is. Coming in at only 21 ounces without the mag, it’s the kind of deceiving that pulls a remark out of anyone that picks one up for the first time. Coupling this fact with my knowledge of the FN 57 being used by military and police across the world, the latter makes a lot more sense. This is a powerful package that carries 20 rounds of 5.7×28 and puts minimal strain on the hip of the person that has to carry it.

FN America, supplier of military-grade firearms world-wide, is happy to announce an updated SCAR 20S, now in 6.5 Creedmoor for 2020.

The optics-ready subcompact is a polymer double-stack striker-fired pistol in line with the rest of the 509 series with a 12+1- or 15+1-round capacity.

FN America announced today an optics-ready version of the popular Midsize 509 Tactical, featuring FN’s patented MRD optics mounting system that is compatible with over 10 commercially available miniature red dots.
