In a world brimming with options, finding the perfect flashlight can be daunting. However, when it comes to a purpose-built spotlight, I’ve grown fond of the Weltool W4Pro TAC.

Olight just released the first ever LEP weapon light for pistols or compact rifles, the Valkyrie Turbo. It’s small enough to fit your Glock 19 and has enough output to be used on your PDW. Powered by two CR123A batteries, the Valkyrie Turbo LEP puts out an impressive 70,255 candela. That means the Valkyrie Turbo can reach out to 580 yards thanks to the LEP technology.

This year at SHOT Show 2022, SureFire introduced their new TURBO Line of lights. High candela lights that throw a beam a serious beam.

The new Defender P15 is a versatile every day carry flashlight and the first weapon light offering from AceBeam. Featuring a precision CNC machined 7075 aluminum body and 1700 lumens of output, the P15 is solidly built with impressive output for its size. It features a newly designed accessory port for tape switches and a quick function button.

The new Baldr Pro R from Olight is an upgraded version of the Baldr Pro released in 2019. It features an integrated green laser built into the reflector allowing for a more streamlined design, and now uses Olight’s famous magnetic charging system. Specifically designed for both short and long gun use, the Baldr Pro R is a versatile weapon-light with a mid-range price tag.

Gearing up for a successful nighttime hunt doesn’t have to be expensive. A powerful flashlight paired with your existing optic can be used effectively out to 200 hundred yards or more for under $110. However, white LEDs aren’t ideal for predator/varmint hunting.

During my deep dive into the flashlight world, I discovered a relatively new brand AceBeam (est. 2014). The name kept showing up on forums and a friend mentioned they were excellent lights, so I had to try them out. They offer a wide variety of flashlights for any situation from diving to hunting and anything in between.

The Baldr lineup from Olight has received mixed reviews. When they told me they were announcing a new Baldr model, I was hoping they fixed some of the shortcomings of the previous versions. A week later the new light showed up at my door. Opening the package revealed the new Baldr-S laser/light pistol light.
