Wingshooting is equal parts mechanics and voodoo; it’s one of the shooting arts that never really came naturally to me. But, I do enjoy hunting ruffed grouse and pheasants, and a fine shotgun. The Fausti Class LX in 28 gauge is not your average shotgun.

A .338 Lapua for Under $1,700? Savage’s 110 BA Stealth Storms the Market — Full Review
BY Clay Martin Published: June 30, 2017 { 23 comments }I am a firm believer that it should be within the reach of every person to own a ludicrously fast car, a stupidly powerful handgun and a magnum rifle that could take a T-rex off its feet at 1,000 yards. Savage has made that attainable. Enter the Savage 110 BA Stealth. It delivers high performance at a fraction of its .338 Lapua competitors.
Sizzling SIG P226 ASE: Ultralight 16-round 9mm—Full Review
BY Justin Opinion Published: June 27, 2017 { 7 comments }“If only SIG Sauer would offer the P226 in more configurations,” said no one. Ever. Okay, I couldn’t help opening with a bit of snark, but if you pay attention to the firearms market you know that there are about as many SKUs for the P226 as there have been for G.I. Joe. Enter the P226 ASE. And it’s a beauty.
A Sub-MOA Takedown .30-06 Lever Action? The Browning BLR – Full Review.
BY Phil Massaro Published: June 8, 2017 { 40 comments }With a receiver stout enough to handle even belted magnum cartridges, the Browning BLR brought the lever gun into the modern era, retaining enough of the classic lines to be visually appealing, but with improvements that changed the game.

Clay on the Road: Savage, Federal and Bushnell Writer’s Event
BY Clay Martin Published: May 31, 2017 { 2 comments }Last week we got the opportunity to attend an event hosted by Savage Firearms, Federal Ammunition, and Bushnell Optics. We shot a mountain of ammunition around the T-Diamond Ranch in Texas, engaging targets from 10 yards all the way to 1,620. It was a great opportunity to get hands on with some of the new toys being released this year, and to pick the stuff for review that our readers are going to want to know more about.
Dump Your .380 and Get This 9mm: Kimber’s Tiny Micro 9—Full Review.
BY Dennis Adler Published: May 31, 2017 { 68 comments }Kimber turned its sights on the .380 concept with the Micro CDP and an entire Micro .380 line. Looking like a highly refined Colt Mustang (exactly what it is, just like the Sig Sauer P238 Series) with a standard capacity of 6 +1 the .380 ACP Micro series left Kimber with one remaining challenge and in 2016 Kimber took the next logical step by introducing a slightly larger Micro variation chambered in 9mm.
A Mega-Capacity Sig Sauer P320? The 21+1 Full Size X-Five 9mm – Full Review.
BY Justin Opinion Published: May 24, 2017 { 8 comments }My first thought when reading the breaking news of the new X-Five line was that SIG was making some neat looking cosmetic changes to the pistol and maybe a bell here or a whistle there. It wasn’t until I received the test sample of the P320 X-Five and immediately tore it apart before I realized that the mad scientists at SIG had done much more than that! It is a P320, and shares the same internal serialized chassis (or fire control group) as the rest of the series. But in just about every other way it is a completely new and different gun.
A Sub-MOA Winchester for $550? The XPR Bolt-Action – Full Review.
BY Phil Massaro Published: May 23, 2017 { 13 comments }Things have changed at Winchester since the mid-19th century, the New Haven, Connecticut plant is no more, and ownership of the company has changed as well. One thing has remained though: Winchester rifles are synonymous with reliability. There have been many different models, and many variations on a particular model. Herein, I’m tackling the Winchester XPR rifle, a modern bolt-action designed to handle it all, at a price that won’t see you sleeping on the couch.
