I think the 300 AAC Blackout caliber was really made for short barrels. Don’t get me wrong, I have a 300 Blackout AR-type rifle with a 16-inch barrel and love it. I just think the flexibility of the caliber really shines in short and compact configurations. And the CMMG MK4 Pistol is a solid option.

Their dedication to producing their own pieces and parts places them in a separate class of manufacturers, and allows them much tighter control of quality. and it shows. They’ve just released a new competition rifle that’s bad-ass, and they have bigger things coming this spring.

Stag Arms is known for their no-nonsense black rifles. These are hard working guns that privilege performance over fashion. Now they’re out into 9mm. Lasers on guns are growing increasingly popular. I’m seeing Crimson Trace grips on many of the guns coming in for review. And as I get used to them, I’m starting to see their appeal. And now Crimson Trace is going green. They’re expanding their line up, and the available colors.
