From a distance, the Burris AR-1X is just another red dot sight wrapped up in a different look, however that would be the incorrect assumption. This Burris AR-1X has features which make me feel that this may be one of the better red dots on the market. And it isn’t going to break the bank.

It is really hard to review a product that will be sticker shock to most people. That is the realm of high end optics in general, and especially binoculars. There are only a few makers of high end optics for which I personally would pay more than $500, and Meopta is one of them. In fact I bought two of these 10×42 Meopta Meostar binos that you see here in the pictures (on EuroOptic for $689). So when the opportunity came up to review their newest 15×56 pair, I jumped at the chance, and I may actually buy these as well.

I don’t care how prepared you are. Whether you own a fully stocked bunker 500 feet below the surface that used to be a missile silo, or if you consider prepping to be a generator, 5 gallons of gas and some canned vegetables, there is always a chance that you will have to light out on foot with nothing but the clothes on your back. Turkey season is right around the corner. Although you don’t have to have a shotgun that is dedicated to turkey hunting there are a few options that will help. Turkeys have great eyesight, they see a lot better than we can. Cammo for the hunter is a must for hunting turkeys. I don’t think it is a must for your shotgun, but it can’t hurt. At the very least you want one that is not going to shine and sparkle in the sun like vampires in tween movies. I prefer an optic or rifle sights on a turkey shotgun. These guns with the proper chokes are capable of taking a turkey out to 40 yards or a bit more. The head on a turkey is small and the bead found on typical shotguns really doesn’t cut it. We want a bit more precision here.

This article is something of a shootout between my favorite (and cheap at $400) night vision scope and an interesting new digital night vision product that was made from a converted IR CCTV camera. In my experience, digital night vision normally isn’t worth the inflated pricetag. I’ve even declined to review the couple “clip on” models that I’ve tried because they were just too expensive for what you get. This product, called Digital Crosshairs, is also a clip on that uses your existing scope. But at only $400-$575, it is at least arguably worth the price.

Accuracy X is hardly a household name. Tucked in the foothills of the Appalachians in western Virginia, the company is known more for its competition guns than it tactical 1911s. But they’re branching out. They’ve sent us three models from their new Pro Series–guns optimized for daily carry that still carry the Accuracy X Accuracy Gurantee–1.5″ groups from 25 yards. Can they live up to the challenge?

When you think of Sig Sauer pistols, you think of classic double/single-action. What you don’t think of is striker-fired. While the new P320 clearly inherits some ideas and inspiration from the modular Sig P250 design, the action is all new. It’s a constant action, striker-fired pistol, complete with the internal safeties you would expect in a striker design. And the modularity will allow you to easily swap between calibers and frame sizes.
